We had a wonderful experience learning to make traditional Bolognese and fresh pasta with our professional chef, Antonio. It was an authentic, hands-on class that gave us a true appreciation for the techniques and traditions behind the recipes for homemade tagliatelle, tortoloni and Ragu sauce. Antonio was friendly, entertaining, and immediately made us feel welcome and at home. The setting is a private home, so the cooking space is cozy and intimate, which adds to the authenticity of the experience. We appreciated the thorough instruction, personal attention, and the opportunity to enjoy a home-cooked meal together. If you're looking for a genuine taste of Bologna and want to learn from a passionate local, this class is a great choice. Highly recommended!
We did this class with Antonio on our last day in Bologna. What a humble, charming, funny man Antonio is. He has an absolute heart of gold, with a simple, no nonsense teaching style that is both effective and easy to follow. We had such a great time talking with him, sharing experiences whilst we rolled pasta or diced vegetables. He is so incredibly well read and travelled, he could have a conversation with anyone. He taught us how to make a traditional ragu which was simply sensational, and a wonderfully tasty tortelloni, combined with excellent fresh pasta. He sent us the recipes whilst we ate, and we will absolutely be giving these a try when we get the chance. Please do this experience with this real gentleman - it is worth every penny and more. Grazie Mille Antonio!
Many thanks for this wonderful review Sam. You almost make me cry because I am so emotional in reading such beautiful words written with hearth. Many thanks again because I love my cooking because I can meet special people as you are. Many thanks again
I rarely write reviews, but after spending an afternoon with Antonio I'm breaking that tradition to implore you to book some time with him in the kitchen. An amazing chef, teacher, storyteller, historian, comedian and human. Absolutely the highlight of our trip!
Many thanks my dears. You are so special ones. You fill my heart ❤️🙏
Loved learning from Chef Antonio. He is knowledgeable, passionate about pasta making, and very funny. This was a highlight of our trip, a beautiful afternoon with a delicious, satisfying ending. ***very important, if you have any allergies or food intolerances, inform Antonio beforehand, so that adjustments are made. His "lab" is cute, quaint, and offers a glimpse into Bologna apartment living. Very cozy.
Super fun! Learned a lot. Antonio was very kind, funny, nice, and helpful. It was just my partner and I, so only 2 people. It's a small kitchen, so not sure about larger groups. You're in an apartment. I like the neighborhood. Cool part of town that has an artsy vibe. Enjoyed walking around after the class. It was 4hrs, which includes eating. Located in a walk up building. He might be on the 4th floor?
An extraordinary experience! Not only did we learn how to cook ragu bolognese, tortelloni and tagliatelle, with all the little tips and tricks of Antonio but we feasted and spent an incredible time in the company of Antonio who is a colorful character, a very funny storyteller, a real well of knowledge in cooking, in history. We highly recommend!
One of my favorite experienced in Bologna. You have a personalized class with a chef that owned a local restaurant. You're taught everything from creating a ragu to building dough (properly) to rolling and cutting for parpadelle. You even create a few tortollinos for a second helping of food. It was amazing and the chef was the best part. He was a genuine great guy who i had a wonderful chat with me about MLB baseball. Highly recommend for foodies. Learnign chefs. And jus those that want to enjoy a dofferent side of cuisine.
Enjoyed this experience in a traditional Italian kitchen. Antonio was really friendly and made us feel very welcome.
many thanks my dears you are so kind
Antonio was an absolute delight. Not only a talented professional chef, but so friendly and personable. My brother and I went together and we had a fabulous time with Antonio. We will definitely be visiting him again on our next visit to Italy. The recipes we made were absolutely delicious and we’re very happy to bring the recipes home with us to share with our family and friends. Highly recommend.
Many thanks my dears. It was a great pleasure meeting you and I will be glad to see you again. I wish you all the best
Antonio was great in every interaction, from before the class he messaged to introduce himself and provided clear instruction on what we would be cooking and helpful instructions to get to his place. You can tell Antonio has a love for cooking as his enthusiasm and storytelling make you laugh and demonstrate his passion for his role. Thank you for an amazing class.
many thanks for your wonderful words
