Itinerary
At 9am, our guide will meet your Yangshuo hotel lobby, but if you also book the other tour option of this trip then our guide will meet you at 8:30am, the cycling tour will lasts during 2-3hrs along the Yulong river area and will be flat and not many traffic and if your hotel at the city center, we will using the car takes you to the countryside and collect the biks there. The Yulong River, with its the landscape is decorated with toothy karst hills, thick bamboo groves, water buffaloes wandering the fields, farmers tending the rice paddies, fishermen gliding along on their narrow bamboo rafts, and village women washing clothes beside the river, kids swimming in the water…
The cycling route will be from Yangshuo to Xiatang village and via the Yulong river to Jiuxian village and At the village, we can visit the Old houses and old streets. The Jiuxian village is an ancient village where civilization started to take place during the Tang Dynasty ( 618-906). Jiuxian village itself was established around the 16th century ahead of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and counts as one of the few remaining villages around Yangshuo China with remainders of both grey brick mansions and mud brick farm houses. The village is certainly worth exploring, among the many courtyards you will find an ancestral hall and the small cobbled alleyways will lead you in between the cluster of old traditional dwellings. While the preserved architecture is a photographer’s delight, the natural surroundings are stunning as well.
After the Jiuxian village, we will going to Moon hill and one hour cycling. The Moon Hill is a huge piece of rock with a moon-shaped hole in its center. The 800 marble stairs called "Appreciating Moon Path" can lead you to the top of the hill and to get a close view of the Moon Cave. Like most karst caves, there are lots of peculiar shaped stalactites hanging on the ceiling of the Moon Cave. Some are like Buddha’s warrior attendants, some like the goddess of the moon and some like jade rabbits. When cycling passed Moon Hill, with the change of viewpoints, the Moon Cave will take on the different looks of a "full moon", "half moon" or "crescent moon". Afterwards, we can cycling back to the hotels or continue the other tour option at Guilin or Yangshuo area.

This was a great experience. We were collected from our hotel by our guide, David (who was excellent) and driven about 15 minutes to the river. We did a gentle 20km cycle taking in scenery, bridges and a coffee stop. The route was very flat, largely on a cycle path along the river or on pretty quiet roads. The bikes are very basic (no gears) and you don't get a helmet so take note of this if it bothers you. We were lucky that there was just us 2 with the guide. We saw many other large groups cycling on busy roads up quite big hills so make sure you book this trip to avoid that. It was a beautiful, peaceful tour which we thoroughly enjoyed.
This was a wonderful experience. Julie was a very warm, kind and informative guide. Amazing insights in spectacular scenery
When Cherry Blossom Avenue meets an exotic accent, The spring breeze has a thousand expressions. step on a bicycle and stand shoulder to shoulder with fellow riders around the world, Turn the culture with the chain, let the bell ring for spring ... I think the price paid is well worth it. In Yangshuo to see the real scenery, the preferred bike test, you can stop at any time to take pictures, the scenery along the way is very beautiful
Julie was an exceptional English speaking guide. She was knowledgeable but relaxed. We had the perfect morning cycling.
We opted for the cycling only option and our guide, Gary, was great - he took us to the local spots in Yangshuo and even shared local stories about the different hills that we wouldn’t have otherwise known if we had cycled by ourselves. It’s a pretty long cycle - by the end we had cycled 23km! You get the option to cycle either with an e-bike or a regular bike and we went with a regular bike. We would recommend this tour 👍🏼
