Itinerary
Your driver-guide will meet you in the hotel lobby or on the 1st floor, holding a sign with your name.
On the way into Yangmingshan National Park, you might have the chance to see Formosan macaques. The elevation is approximately 700 to 1,000 meters, so it will be slightly cooler than the city. The main attractions are Qingtiangang Grassland and Xiaoyoukeng Recreation Area.
Perched atop Yangmingshan National Park, Qingtiangang is a vast, flat grassland that offers spectacular panoramic views. With an elevation of approximately 800 meters, the temperature is slightly cooler than the city, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely walk or a picnic. During the Japanese occupation, this area was established as a ranch for grazing cattle. Today, you can still spot wild water buffalo and other wildlife leisurely grazing here. Due to its high altitude, the area is often shrouded in clouds and mist, creating a unique and ethereal beauty.
Located on the northwestern corner of Mt. Qixing at an elevation of approximately 805 meters, Xiaoyoukeng is a post-volcanic geological park where you can witness active volcanic phenomena firsthand. As you get closer, you can see steam vents and smell the distinct scent of sulfur from the volcanic activity. This area serves more as a viewing platform, so you don't need to walk a long distance to enjoy the impressive scenery.
Yehliu Geopark is one of northern Taiwan's premier destinations, home to a collection of unique geological formations carved by the wind and sea. While the park is most famous for the iconic Queen's Head, you can also discover other remarkable formations like Sea Candles, Fairy Shoe, Ginger Rocks, and Princess' Head. As the park is an open and exposed area with little to no shelter, it's important to be prepared for the weather. In winter, the strong northeast monsoon can feel quite cold and chilly. During the summer, the sun is very intense, so it is highly recommended to wear sun-protective clothing or bring an umbrella and to stay hydrated.
Back to hotels or other spots you preferred in Taipei City at the end of the tour.

The tour was full of beautiful sights. We were excited for the trip, but our tour guide Jennifer, made the experience better than we could have ever expected. She is Passionate about the history and knowledgeable about all the surroundings. Very comfortable car, punctual, and fantastic English speaking. My fiancée has a gluten allergy and she was so helpful translating with locals so she could eat. Thank you for the wonderful experience Jennifer!
We had a great day out of the city with Cody, the weather was perfect to see the park and Neolithic carvings. He got to know us quickly and what we wanted to do. We had lots of questions and he was able to answer them all. He had good knowledge of where we visited. 👍 He was a very safe driver; we drove back in a thunderstorm, no worries though. The pace was perfect.
Even though the weather was not good, we still managed to see most of the sights and had a wonderful time! Ben, our guide, was warm and friendly and accommodating. He also helped us take many lovely family photos. Highly recommend this tour for a break from the usual city sights in Taipei!

Paul was a wonderful guide who was flexible and easy to work with. The rains brought thick fog to Yangmingshan National Park that we needed to have a plan B. Paul brought us to Jinshan instead which is the first settlement of the Hokkien migrants from Mainland China. It was a good alternative . Yehliu Geopark did not disappoint despite the continued drizzle.
Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your kind words and for choosing our service. We are sincerely glad to hear that despite the thick fog at Yangmingshan, you had a meaningful day exploring the northern coast. It is our honor to know that Paul’s flexibility and his suggestion of a "Plan B" met your expectations. We believe that history and culture are just as captivating as natural scenery, and I am pleased that the visit to Jinshan provided you with a unique insight into the early heritage of our region. I am also glad that the landscapes of Yehliu Geopark remained a highlight for you despite the drizzle. I will certainly pass your appreciation along to Paul. He will be very encouraged to know that his efforts to ensure a high-quality experience, regardless of the weather, were so well-received. Thank you again for your understanding and recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back to Taiwan on a clearer day in the future. —Lawson @ YOLO Taiwan
If not for the weather, this would have been a great trip. We could not see anything in Yangmingshan National Park because of the fog but I was already warned by our superb tour guide Paul Yang. Paul had a plan B though and he brought us to Jinshan instead to experience authentic authentic Taiwanese lifestyle. This is the first settlement by their ancestors who travelled from the Hokkien province of mainland China thereby having almost - 400 years of history . Yehliu Geopark did not disappoint.
Dear Guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are sincerely glad to hear that, despite the weather conditions at Yangmingshan, you still had a meaningful day exploring Northern Taiwan. It is our honor to know that Paul Yang’s alternative arrangement to visit Jinshan provided you with a deeper understanding of our local history and heritage. Nature can be unpredictable, but we believe it is our responsibility to ensure our guests still have a valuable experience by sharing the stories and culture that make our home special. I am pleased that the visit to Jinshan and the landscapes of Yehliu Geopark left a positive impression on you. I will certainly pass your kind words and appreciation along to Paul. He will be very encouraged to know that his "Plan B" and historical insights were well-received. Thank you again for your understanding and for choosing our service. We hope to have the privilege of welcoming you back for a clearer view of the mountains in the future. —Lawson @ YOLO Taiwan
Vincent is a wonderful tour guide and anyone would be lucky to have his services. Highly recommended, its a private tour with him walking alongside and supporting and sharing/teaching about the area sites. Its not too overwhelming and you still get privacy with ur family but also a fun uncle/friend to banter and chat with. He really matches your energy and I would use his services again back in Taiwan :)
