We enjoyed this tour. My...

We enjoyed this tour. My husband and I were the only ones on the tour. Meeting up with the tour guide was easy and Hans did a great job. He shared a lot of knowledge from the area and is very kind and polite. His vehicle was comfortable and had good AC. The Mayan Experience was ok. It was short and they asked for tips at the end. They also offer to take a picture with you, but we believe we would have been asked to pay for it so we declined. The honey and chocolate tasting were good but a tiny jar of honey was $15 and the chocolate bar was also $15. We thought they were overpriced. We also stopped at 3 monuments, a small blowhole, a small restaurant for free tacos, and Palm beach. The monuments were interesting, but the tacos were not great - they were basically two corn tortillas with diced chicken, but no toppings, so they were dry. The beach was small, had lots of seaweed and it was difficult to walk by the water without stepping on it. We did not get in the water and were only there 20 minutes. There were only a handful of people in the area we were dropped off at. It's a good tour to see the city/island, but there's just not that much to see. Like I said, we enjoyed it and are glad we went. We would definitely recommend Hans.

Jeep Tour

We took a jeep island tour with David Bernal as our guide. He told us the history of Cozumel/Mexico and took us to the important spots . We went shopping . We did the Mayan experience with chocolate and honey tasting. We went to the east side if island . We went to Punta Sur and walked to the top of the lighthouse. It was beautiful. We went to Virgin Beach for lunch. We also saw the lagoon with crocodiles. Then we went snorkeling at Sky Reef. This tour is an excellent tour and David was an awesome tour guide. We booked it through a rep at the Melia Cozumel resort.

Our day of exploring the island and snorkeling

We had a wonderful day of sightseeing and exploring the island! David is a fantastic guide! His knowledge of the island and its history was incredible. We learned a lot! He even went snorkeling with us and pointed out interesting things. The Mayan experience is a bit touristy, as they are trying to sell you things like tequila and chocolate, but it was still fun. Punta Sur and the lighthouse were really cool! I'm glad we chose a guided tour instead of renting a car and exploring on our own. Overall, it was an incredible experience! Highly recommended!

The excursion was great. Our guide, Pedro, was excellent in providing education about the island and culture. We got sucked in to the experience of the tequila tasting, as avid drinkers and tequila lovers, spending way too much money for overpriced tequila. But it was good and tasty. I guess it's worth it when we can sip it and reminisce on our trip long after our vacay is over. Pedro took us to the best restaurant with fresh seafood, wish we could've had it every day. Overall great experience our whole family enjoyed!

Best Tour on my Cruise

At first I was hesitant to take this tour due to a very long, detailed review right here on viator but I decided to take a chance since it had several 5 stars; and I'm so glad I did!! Our day started a bit stressed because of the time zone change and the commercial center of Punta Langosta. It was very confusing and even though we could see the starbucks we could not find the way to get there. Then I got a message from the tour provider saying I was 30 minutes late and that the tour was leaving without us (it was 10:10 and the tour time was 10 am so we were late but not that late). After we were able to get to the starbucks and locate the Staff everything was fine. We walked a bit to get to the car and our guide explained that the parking lots in the pier are reserved only for the taxis but the walk was very short, nice and colorful. Our tour guide's name was Brandon and he was absolutely amazing! So nice, respectful and accommodating. We were 4 female friends and we can all say confidently that Brandon is a gem of a tour guide. After he brought the car (a Red 2026 Suzuki Jimny) we got in, he turned the AC, offered us water and to let us play whatever music we wanted. After that we started the tour and he took us to see some planes used in WW2 and also took us to a flea market in downtown to buy some souvenirs. The prices here were great, but more importantly to me there were plenty of options to buy. I bought so many souvenirs for myself and my family! Handmade, traditional mugs also caps, shots, magnets, tshirts; and the prices were really good, cheaper than in Costa Maya the day before. And there were plenty buy 2 get 1 free (I swear I didn't buy more because I had limited space in my suitcase lol). And the service in the market was really nice and respectful. After we all bought whatever we wanted, Brandon helped us with the bags and also turning on the AC even before we got to the car (while we were paying, very accommodating I'm telling you!). He then took us through the island explaining several things and historical, cultural and social facts about Cozumel. We then got to the Otoch Experience. My expectations for this Mayan Theme Park were average, probably due to the review but this was one of my favorite parts of the tour. It starts with a 'mayan purification ritual' that was very entertaning, they took us a picture with the performers (Brandon also took a photo with his phone) and said tips were very welcomed. They DID NOT pressure us for tips. AT ALL. As in all touristical places of course tips are welcomed and propably expected but no one in this trip pressure us nor insisted for tips. After that we were offered a traditional margarita for each of us and Brandon took a photo of us in the big Otoch sign. Then we got to the tastings. First was the tequila tasting. It was so good! I thought I hated tequila; I just had never tried real tequila. Our tequila expert was called Leo and he explained everything about the process of making tequila and how Jalisco is the only place in the world where tequila (the real one, not the liquor) can be made. He explained the right way to taste tequila and throughout the whole tasting gave us shots of all the tequilas they make. They had several types and flavors and let us tried them all, several times. My favorites were the mango one, the passion fuit one and the tamarind one (I bought one of this flavor to take home!). Special mention to the mazapan one, it was delicious; if I had more space in my suitcase I probably would have taken one of this flavor too. After that it was tacos tasting. They were phenomenal, so sad there were only two small tacos (but I get that it was just a tasting). We then got to the honey and chocolate tasting. The chocolates were good but the honey was spectacular. I bought one that tastes like chai. In this part if you ask to get the spicy sauces tasting they also do it; my friend really likes spicy stuff and they let her try all the different spicy sauces. We then got time to go to the restrooms and to walk around and check out the gift shop. During this time they offer us the photo that they took us with the performers with a Cozumel frame. It was a bit expensive but they gave us a discount since the 4 of us bought each a frame. Again, they don't pressure you to buy anything, they just offer all their products and you decide either to buy or not. For me, this expensive frame with the photo of me and my friends was a memory, and it was worth paying the high price. Brandon helped us with our bags and everything we bought. Again, the AC was turned on even before we got to the car and offered us water and beer (beer is not included in the tour but for some turn of events and bad attitude of some nasty tourists we were lucky enough to get it!). We then went to the first beach stop. During the ride he explained us things about the island and was it very pleasant to talk and listen to music with that beautiful, sunny view. My friends and I decided not to stop in this beach since it was full of sargasso. Brandon then took us to the last stop of the tour that is a private beach club. We lied in some chairs, took some sun and my friends got in the water and said it was great. We weren't really hungry so we didn't order anything but the prices looked reasonable for a touristic, private beach club. Again, not cheap but reasonable. Nobody pressured us to buy nor food nor drinks which is really appreciated since no one likes to be bothered to buy if they don't want to. Brandon let us stay here for as long as we wanted. We stayed for like an hour and then got to the car and drove the rest of the island. We passed through the other piers and a commercial zone with shops and hotels that looked pretty nice. Finally we got to Punta Langosta, where Brandon again helped us with everything we bought, offered us a last beer and checked in with us about the tour. We completed a very short survey and said goodbye. Overall the tour was absolutely amazing. The stops 4.5/5, the guide 5/5, Vehicle 5/5, attention and accommodation 5/5, respect 5/5 and price-quality ratio 5/5. This was the day I spent the most money in my whole trip but it was all voluntarily and I would do it again because it was worth it and I took A LOT of things with me for my family and myself. It was a very special day for me and my friends and mostly it was thanks to this tour, to Brandon and how beautiful Cozumel is. I'm so so pleased with this tour that I booked it again for my parents that are going to Cozumel next week in the same cruise. If you are considering this tour, take it. It was worth every single penny.

Nice tour but dropped off at wrong port

We thought we had a group tour, but since we were the only 2, it was more like a private tour of Cozumel. Tio Jose showed us all the highlights of Cozumel. However, we were picked up at Punta Langosta but when the tour was over, he dropped us off at one of the other 2 ports. He said to walk through the shopping center and the port was across the street. We didn’t know how far our port was, so we had to take a cab to the correct port at our expense. ,

Operator response

We are very sorry for what happened. Our guide, Tio, privately offered an apology and a refund for the taxi fare, but he never contacted us again to arrange for the money to be sent. It was an unintentional mistake on our guide's part.
