Itinerary
The Aruba Ostrich Farm welcomes you to one of the largest living species in the world. Visitors are encouraged to partake in a guided tour of the farm, inhabited by both ostriches and their flightless Australian relatives, emus. The tour provides the opportunity to learn about the natural behavior and survival instincts of these amazing creatures through detailed information as well as personal encounters with the birds.
Get the opportunity to mingle with some real locals at the Donkey Sanctuary. Founded in 1997 as a non-profit and completely volunteer run organization, their mission is simple. Save the Donkeys! Although not originally native to the small island of Aruba, they have existed here for 500 years having been the primary mode of transportation until cars began to be introduced on the island in increasing numbers. At that point, many Arubans no longer had the need for their formerly beloved donkey, and sadly in the 1970’s, a dangerous and rapidly spreading illness nearly caused their extinction leaving behind a population of only 20 wild donkeys.
Visit Philip’s Animal Garden. After years of saving and adopting abused and abandoned animals, Philip Merryweather has turned his love for exotic animals into a world-class shelter and rehabilitation center. Philip’s Animal Garden is offering up interactive and educational tours, where you can enjoy an up close and personal experience with over 50 species of exotic animals from around the world. Visitors are invited to see, touch and even feed some of the garden’s exotic inhabitants.

I loved this tour. Never saw so many ass in one place. Lol. But all the stops were great. Aruba is beautiful. The tour drained me and i loved every min of it. The driver was 100% pleasant and funny. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
We had a great time on the tour. Perfect for animal lovers! We had just enough time at each stop to see everything and enjoy the animals. The donkey sanctuary and animal garden you can explore at your leisure but the ostrich farm is guided. Plenty of opportunities for photos and feeding the animals at all three stops. Food is even included at the animal garden! The bus is an old school bus without windows and a bit of a bumpy ride but well worth it. Danny was our tour guide, and he was excellent! Pointed out various places we passed from one stop to the next and gave history of the island as well. Answered all our questions and was very friendly! Highly recommend for a fun half day tour!
We had a great day visiting the animal sanctuaries. It was fun getting to feed all the animals, especially the ostriches! Pick up/Drop off from our hotel was great!
Such a fun way to spend a morning/early afternoon! We loved the donkeys and the ostrich farm was pretty cool, though our favorite part was our guide Danny! So knowledgeable about the island, great driving, and super attentive. Our least favorite spot was Philip’s Animal Garden because there were only rare signs indicating the species and also would have loved to know which animals are rescues vs being purchased for a petting zoo. That being said, we really enjoyed feeding the goats and other animals there (good variety).
This tour was awesome! From the Donkey Sanctuary, to the Ostrich Farm, and the Animal Garden. It was a great day to get to see Aruba and our tour guide Danny was great. Definitely recommend!
I guess I could have done without the donkey sanctuary. It does support the operation but if you've seen one ass you've seen 'em all. The ostrich farm provided a tour which gave a lot of interesting information. The Phillip's Animal Garden had a wide variety of tropical animals. Although not included in this tour, I can recommend The Butterfly Farm near Eagle beach.
It was a marvelous experience. The staff was knowledgeable and anxious to share with visitors. Have been to Aruba many times and somehow missed this stop. Each place was fascinating.
Great trip with the Grandchildren. They enjoyed feeding the animals and the animals were very friendly.
Great tour of three animal places! Danny, our driver, was fantastic. Gave us some interesting facts about the island as we drove from place to place. You can feed animals at all of the places. Get the shaved ice at the ostrich farm! Plan for 5 hours.
Our EL TOURS bus driver was friendly, knowledgeable and caring. We enjoyed the halfday tour of 3 Animal sanctuaries (Donkey, ostrich and Phillips had multiple animals). He picked us up on SATURDAY FEB 7th around 9:15 and we were back before 2pm and it included all admissions, there were no extra costs and we had enough time at each stop TIP: Bring a bag of sliced apples and carrot sticks and wear a hat and sunscreen. The OSTRICH and emu farm facility and tour lady (brown hair and former Dutch military) was the BEST! They had a surprisingly elegant, shade-covered large pavilion-RESTAURANT (open 11am-2:30 pm approx w chalkboard menu). It could be a great Venue for a birthday party or other celebration ). You can order a ostrich egg meal that feeds 6 people or a single sandwich, frozen treats use restroom, gift shop and also see parrots, ducks, peacocks, turkeys...... At Phillips they had a wide variety of animals and the large tortoise, kangaroos, miniature and baby goats and monkeys were fun to see. The scenery on the way to each place was also enjoyable. You can also arrange a UTV tour from their office at Phillips.
