Melissa our driver was wonderful. Safe driver, very kind and knowledgeable. Bottled water was there when we arrived and she took care of everything we needed.
We were picked up at the cruise terminal in a very clean van with bottles of ice water aboard. Our driver was courteous and helpful and actually advised us not to go to a lunch place I chose in advance. She was correct it really wasn’t for the kids. It was great if we were alone but not large enough for seating with a family. She chose a wonderful scenic beachfront restaurant with delicious tacos pizza and ceviche and shrimp that were luscious. Prices reasonable. At San Gervasio she got us a terrific guide and the ruins were well worth the trip. We would have picked our own place out near the ruins for our tequila tasting however she steered us to one closer to town that was fun and educational and included many types of tequila to taste but it was high pressure buying. Our guide in the tequila was fun but it was a very commercial establishment. Hard to know if the one out of town would have been more authentic. We bought some Reserva Tequila, Tres Anos and a few liqueurs. We ended with 2:00pm chocolate making tour. We actually crushed the beans with a stone rolling pin just like the Mayans did back in the day. We made round chocolate bars with the ingredients like cinnamon and honey and other powdered spices added by our chocolate chef guide. We saw the chocolate process of beans in the pod and the history and pictures of the farms. Our van left us at the chocolate experience and we took a cab back to the ship. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and certainly knew everything about Cozumel. We had the Van for 5 hours.
From the beginning to the end of the trip, our driver and staff were awesome. Our Driver Oogle was great, funny and very informative.
Tico was a great guide and a safe driver. He has good knowledge of the area and was able to recommend us a few stops along the way that were not part of our original plan.
