Guided tour of Oviedo

Description
Discover the most popular side of Oviedo–Uvieo and immerse yourself in authentic Asturian culture on this tour *in Spanish. Why is Asturias a principality? Why are the inhabitants of Oviedo called "carbayones"? Did you know that the Camino de Santiago was an "invention" of ours? An official tour guide will accompany us through the most emblematic places in Oviedo–Uvieo to bring us closer to the most traditional parts of the neighbourhoods in its old town, where the medieval, the baroque and the contemporary blend perfectly: The square and the market of El Fontán, Los Trescorrales, La Escandalera, the palace of la Rúa, the church of San Isidoro, the colourful streets of Mon and Cimavilla or the exterior of the Cathedral. We will explore the old Oviedo through its gastronomy, its festivals and folixes, its history and, most importantly, its people, remembering real characters such as Clarín, Doña Balesquida or Pachu Barbes. Plaza Porlier (in front of the sculpture of "The Traveler"). Look for the green umbrella!
Did you know that the Camino de Santiago began here? Under the statue of the Asturian king Alfonso II we will discover who "invented" him and, after that, we will walk along Calle del Águila to the Academia de la Llingua Asturiana, where we will teach you some Asturian expressions.
Do you like folixa? Well, this place has a lot to do with the Field Tuesday festival and the famous bollu preñáu.
Sardineeees! Hake! Centollu! Mouth you! The old fish market has some surprises in store for us.
Of baroque origin, it is one of the most beautiful temples in Oviedo. But it hides some secrets that we will reveal during our tour.
In this square we will learn about its past as a popular theater and current relationship with the world of cider.
This square hosts some popular festivals, such as L'Antroxo (the traditional carnival) or the prima dance.
One of the most beautiful town hall houses in Spain, beneath its façade it still preserves the arch of the Puerta de Cimavilla, a vestige of its old medieval wall.
After discovering the Romanesque tower of the cathedral, we will finish to see the Gothic part of the cathedral of El Salvador.
The old fish market. This is one of the most photographed squares in Oviedo.
We will see some pre-Romanesque remains from the reign of the Asturian king Alfonso II.

Great, he's an excellent guide. We'll repeat for sure.
Highly recommended. Denis explains everything in a very enjoyable and interesting way, he is the second one we come to and we will go to see them all.
Super recommended and interesting. Our Guide achieved an immersive experience with admirable passion and knowledge
Very entertaining the visit and Denis very good and makes it very enjoyable, it gets short. Although you know your city well, these guided tours always reveal things that happened to you. Very good way to discover your city
Denis the Guide very prepared, very pleasant and very interesting information. It made the visit perfect. On time, affable route and for all audiences. History, anecdotes, culture. Perfect.
Very pleasant, fun and providing the necessary historical data, from Guide Jorge. Thank you and we hope to repeat in more visits.
Very interesting, it tells you a lot of data from both sides. It tells how the people of that time lived. Shows you how few vestiges remain x the city
Nice and unique. The Guide knows about the subject that remained related to disorders, "snakes" and witches in the city of Oviedo
We did the "Uvieo at war!" Route, and we were delighted. Denis, our guide, is a historian, and he told all his (very interesting) stories, adapting them to us, who are from outside Asturias and still lack some basic knowledge about these lands. A highly recommended experience that we will surely repeat.
