Then, learn about the most important works from the Guggenheim's permanent and rotating collections as you stroll through its galleries, atrium, and terrace in the company of your guide. Accompany the visit with a pleasure in the flavors. From among many very good restaurants, we have selected one with Basque tradition but with a modern touch, specializing in fresh seasonal grilled products. Their secret lies in the selection of raw materials, seasonal products that they buy from farmers and arrantzales (fishermen) who even grow vegetables, citrus fruits and aromatic plants. Javi was a knowledgeable and engaging guide - great for understanding the works throughout the amazing building and explaining the background and features. There was some muddling of our relatively expensive booking as we didn’t receive the 3 hour tour and food tasting we had booked and paid for - rather a 2.5 hr tour only. No refund or further explanation was offered - but the tour we did have was excellent.
My Tour Guide, VANESSA, was very knowledgable, very nice, and spoke English very well! The Government of Bilbao did excellently to receive the Guggenheim and fully transform their city from an industrial, to a touristic city. Now, Spain is not complete without visiting Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla and Bilbao. Thanks to VANESSA, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit at the Bilbao Guggenheim.
We are glad to know that you enjoyed Vanesa. He is an exceptional guide and we will let her know. Thank you for choosing us
This was canceled last minute by the provider. I was waiting at location site when I received the text. Super frustrating. I have attempted to contact Viator, with out any luck, to get a full refund.
Do not book any activities with this company called EXPLORA NORTE unless you are doing a research project on what horrible customer service looks like. Unprofessional, rude and inflexible. In a last minute effort I booked a tour of the Guggenheim Museum and realized that for whatever reason, even tho tickets were $97 each and I was only purchasing 1 ticket, for whatever reason I was charged double, $194. I explained the situation to Javi the tour guide and he agreed that I was incorrectly charged and that his boss would resolve it. They did not. We spoke in circles back in forth in circles and when I provided proof with screenshots of TripAdvisor screens and my bank account, the representative at EXPLORA NORTE lacking any ground for why they couldn’t issue me a refund for one ticket simply stopped responding. This is disgusting and a crime and TripAdvisor/ Viator should cancel their contracts with EXPLORA NORTE immediately. I am considering not booking with TripAdvisor in the future because there is no one who is advocating for me in this unlawful behavior from this unprofessional business. If that isn’t enough to frighten you, everyone on the tour had preferred the 10:30am time slot, which was available on TripAdvisor and all of us were rescheduled, unapologetically, to 1pm. The other couple on the tour mentioned that another activity they booked with EXPLORA NORTE had also been rescheduled. You have everything to lose cause the tour operators of this scam of a business think that they can just change up your booking because clearly, they have no intent to refund your money if you are unhappy with the change. We are on vacation and we have other plans to occupy our day, I don’t need EXPLORA NORTE to interfere with my plans. If I book a 10:30am time slot in TripAdvisor, I EXPECT to take a tour at 10:30am. And if something went wrong, an apology, a little empathy goes a long way but I never saw any of that from EXPLORA NORTE. Instead I got a whole lot of attitude by this very classless and unprofessional company.
We are sorry that you did not enjoy the service and your complaint. Remember that a service cannot be canceled on the same day and at the same time since the guide waits and is working.
My husband and I did this tour. We signed up on line Knowing where to go was interesting so we wandered around a bit. The entrance is by the big puppy planter. Once you know that it is quite straight forward. Our guide met us there. Javier was excellent. He gave us all the details and without him we would not have gotten as much out of the museum.
We are glad that you will enjoy the tour and our guide Javier. We hope to see you soon.
Javier was our guide, He is a Bilbao native. He is an art lover we could tell. He loves the Guggenheim and his love for it transferred to all 4 of us in the tour As soon as we were all there we started, because it looked like rain and he wanted as much done outside before it rained again He truly adapted the tour to the weather. He explained everything in detail and he was very interesting Then we went inside and he took us to the Richard Serra exhibit... his favourite, and now ours definitely Then he took us to the masterpieces rooms and explained the pieces exposed We truly enjoyed the 3 1/4 hours we spent with him and truly recommend this tour !
We are glad that you will enjoy the tour and our guide Javier. We hope to see you soon.
I loved walking around the Guggenheim and admiring not only the amazing art but the architecture of the building.
We are glad that you will enjoy the tour. We hope to see you soon
There is a lot going on at the Guggenheim. The outside is everything you expect. Be sure to walk all the way around, see the puppy reflected in nearby windows. Don’t miss the river side of the building and the street scene—performers, events, playground... The inside is going to be more interesting for those with a modern art bent. We loved the Richard Seras and the temporary exhibits. It has a ramp-like feel mimicking the NY museum. The Bistro was an excellent choice for lunch which starts at 1 pm. We made a reservation during our mid morning coffee break for the same day.
We are glad that you will enjoy the tour. We hope to see you soon
Javier was excellent. Passionate, informative and gave us a generous amount of time to ask questions and look and the art. Top notch...thanks for making our trip to Bilbao memorable
Nos complace saber que disfrutaron del tour. Se lo haremos saber a Javier
This was a wonderful and very informative tour. Although it was booked as a small group I was the only participant. I learnt so much about the museum and the art work. I would highly recommend this tour.
We are glad that you will enjoy the tour
