A Day Well Spent

There is a considerable amount of walking on uneven stone so wear good walking shoes. There are hills, especially to Pena castle. If you have mobility issues, this may not be the tour for you. While there is lots to see, time at each destination can be impeded by others in the group. Remember, you are on a group tour so be respectful of timelines. Our tour guide, Rui C. was excellent as was our bus driver Alex. All in all, it was a great day!

this is the perfect day...

this is the perfect day trip from lisbon! our guide mario was super informative and had great recommendations for our free time in cascais. doing the just the outside of the pena palace is definitely the way to go, there’s plenty to see in the allotted time without waiting in the long line to enter. driver was extremely capable and impressive navigating our big bus down some very narrow and winding roads.

Mario was wonderful! He gave enough information about where we were at. It left us with wanting to come back and explore Sintra again. Also the restaurant recommendation in Caiscais was delicious but being cash!

Highly recommended tour with Laura.

Highly recommend this tour. Our tour leader was Laura. She is very professional, friendly and very informative. We enjoyed our day very much. Laura also makes sure that you do not get lost by creating a whatsapp group to keep you updated on the time, location and recommendations. First tour leader we experienced to go into such details. She is an asset to the team.

Sintra, Cascais guided tour

Great tour of Sintra key attractions (Palácio da Pena e Quinta da Regaleira), then lunch at Cascais. Our guide Diogo was great, a good bit history with a touch of humor.

mixed feelings

we convene at 8am. lunch break was almost 3pm. so bring food with you to eat in the coach. i wish there was more preparatory information about the queuing at the pena palace - some tour mates queued the wrong queue (i did too initially but i figured out myself the correct queue) and missed the entry time and missed touring the major attraction pena palace altogether. we were handed a map before we walk down from Regaleira - it was a steep walk and we mistakenly reached the main exit without passing through the chapel. To not miss the chapel one has to ascend again. some tour mates were not physically apt enough and chose to give the chapel a miss. again this can be avoided if there was more preparatory information. there was no guided information once we were at the sites. we were left to roam around on our own. lunch at cascais is expensive. average €30 per head without alcohol and must pay in CASH. restaurants which accept cards are next level expensive. the itinerary was smooth and driving was safe. coach was comfortable with air con.
