Green Grotto Cave Tour from Montego Bay
Description
The central feature of this natural attraction is the large labyrinthine limestone cave with its numerous rock formations, its stalactites, stalagmites and abundance of overhead ceiling pockets. Your guide will explain the rich history of the caves, telling the story of the people who have used the caves for various purposes over the years. The discovery of cave paintings, tools and fragments of pottery indicate that the original inhabitants of the caves were the Taino Indians who would have used the caves for shelter. The next known inhabitants were the Spanish who, at the time of the British invasion of Jamaica (1655), hid in the caves to avoid capture. There is an underground tunnel which links the caves to the sand at Runaway bay. It is believed that the Spanish used the tunnel in their attempt escape the Island and flee to Cuba. Runaway slaves have also used the caves to hide from their former masters.

The selected mode of transportation is a top of the line vehicle whether it be car, mini-van, or bus to suite visitors in the most comforting way. Visitors will be picked up from their location provided, on time or 15 minutes ahead of time to ensure that there will be time to spare just in case of any other request from guests. While the tour is on going the driver will brief visitors with his knowledge and history as needed.

Incredibly misleading. The site said that entrance was included and it was just a taxi to and from the grottoes, at which point we got charged another $39.50 per ticket to go in by the local operator. Do not use this operator.
It is unfortunate that Sarah's experience was not a plesant one. Our product 167990p12 does not include admission/entrance fess. It specifically states "transportation only" I would appreciate Viatour review our product and confirm the details. Below is the information on what is included and what's excluded. An excellent and easy drive to and from the caves. The driver waited for us at the caves and gave us a quick verbal tour as we drove there.
We used Hastings Tours to go to the Green Grotto Caves from Montego Bay. Our driver, Jamal, was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging! He shared fascinating insights, answered all our questions, and made the experience both fun and informative. The car was clean and comfortable, making the tour even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Owen was a great addition to our trip to the Green Grotto Caves. He picked us up on time and gave us an informative description of the towns between our hotel and the Caves. I'd definitely use his service again to tour Jamaica. The Green Grotto Caves were also interesting and fun.

We really enjoyed the cave exploring excursion. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. No complaints. I think it is a good tour for kids and others who like adding some education in their fun activities.

Green Grotto The history of the Green Gratto Cave is very interesting. The guide did an awesome job and the driver was polite, patient, on time and very jovial. He ensured we were comfortable and even offered complimentary refreshment.
