Description

Indulge in a tour of the Golden Circle - the relaxing way, and explore some of Iceland's most famous sights, including Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysir hot spring. Plus, see the erupting geyser Strokkur in Haukadalur geothermal area and visit the Secret Lagoon hot spring bath. Your tour begins with a mid-morning pickup from the city centre or cruise port. Board a climate-controlled minivan destined for the Golden Circle route. Over the course of the morning, stop at Gullfoss Waterfall, the Geysir Geyser, and Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates collide. On this tour, you will also spend free time soaking in the Secret Lagoon hot spring pool.

Tour Options

Golden Circle Tour
  • Hot Golden Circle: Visit the wonderful sights of Golden Circle (Thingvellir, Gullfoss, Geyser) and take a viking style bath in hot spring lagoon at the end of the tour! Pickup included

Itinerary

30 min

Golden Circle tour is the tour to take if you only take one tour in Iceland! The duration of the stops vary, but it is (very roughly) at least 30 min at each of the main sights.

45 min

You will take a short walk through Thingvellir, a National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site, located directly between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. The history here is also fascinating; Thingvellir was the original site of what is now the longest-running parliament in the world, formed in 930 AD.

30 min

Another stop will be in the geothermal are near Haukadalur valley. This hilly area has a lot of hot springs, but what it is most renowned for is its geysers. The largest, Geysir gave the world the word geyser, while Strokkur is the most active in the area, shooting water up to 30 meters high every five to ten minutes.

30 min

Admire the majestic waterfall Gullfoss. The sheer power of the falls is mesmerizing, and its history is inspiring.

Admission included60 min

On this tour, you will also get the time to slow down and relax like a local. Secret lagoon is Iceland’s oldest swimming pool, filled with water trickling in from an adjacent geothermal area, which, as an added bonus, has another little geyser. Its location could not be more serene, and you will no doubt ease away any tension built up over your holiday in its healing waters.

Rakel is amazing!!

Rakel was our tour guide. She was so very nice, she gave us so much information about the Icelandic culture and about the island itself. They communicated well when it came to finding them at the port. So it worked so very well with being an excursion I booked on a limited time frame. But again, 10/10 would recommend. Rakel was amazing!!

A True Highlight of My Trip

The host was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure everyone had the best possible experience. The group was respectful, welcoming, and well-paced throughout the day. At every stop, our guide took the time to thoughtfully explain the history, geology, and significance of each site while still keeping us on schedule. What really stood out was the attention to detail—he even showed me the best way to film the geysers in slow motion and shared photography tips that made a huge difference. It was those small, thoughtful moments that made the tour feel personal rather than rushed. You could tell he truly cared about making sure everyone had a memorable experience, whether that meant answering questions, helping with photos, or making sure we had enough time to take everything in. I absolutely recommend this tour. It was informative, well-organized, and one of the highlights of my trip.

What a delight!

The drive itself is enjoyable, especially through Iceland's rift valley and national park. Then there's the historic parliament site, waterfalls, geysers, and hot springs - absolutely wonderful. And our guide was great: friendly, funny, knowledgeable, patient, and helpful.

Highly recommend!

Strongly recommend this tour! The guide, Trond, was funny and had lots of interesting storys besides the tour. We were only 4 people so there were lots of time to both explore the beautiful nature and have very interesting political discussions.
