The driver or guide never showed. First I had arrived for the original schedule of 08.00 and when there was no-one, I called and was told that an email had been sent for the change to 09.00 ( I have no wifi on the ship !!) When at 09.00 still no one showed up, I called again and at the same time THE BUS LEFT THE BUSPARKING LOT... I was told that I should then take a taxi to meet up with the bus AT MY EXPENSE, which I refused.
Good Morning. The guide that was operating the tour walked around the area where you were to meet, and was calling your name. No one responded. You called the emergency contact after the departure time and the tour had departed. We were unable to call the coach back. If you and called eelier then we ma ahve been able to help resolve the issue
I waited for your representative , who never showed at the spot where ALL touroperator reps were waiting with name signs. After calling the UK number it was suggested that I take a taxi ( at my cost) to the first stop of the bus i.e a castle. This I refused, so I will claim back my amount paid. Sorry , but a shameful experience
Good Morning All other guests joined the tour, and taking a taxi to teh 1st stop was not unreasonable, as you failed to join the tour at the Meeting Point
We read some reviews the day we went and expected a less than good experience. But it was great! They were there on time very organized, dressed in Scottish kilts and very knowledgable. We got everywhere that was scheduled. Sterling castle and Loch Lomond were awesome! We also had a great time shopping and having lunch in a small town. Discovered by talking to them they are locals and just acquired this company from the people with the less than good reviews and it was our best tour this cruise yet. Would highly recommend this tour and the people.
The visit to Sterling Castle is interesting. We were less satisfied with the fact that we were taken to a store and pasture to feed cows. Absolutely not interesting. Then too much time in Callander. A short lunch stop is better; there is nothing to see in the village. We were taken to the worst possible location around Loch Lomond. The stop was at shops and even more coffee shops. No need for it. Driver did not understand; there are so many shops was his answer. We come for nature. If we had still been in time to take a boat trip; at least we would have seen something. So we have not seen this very beautiful Loch. We also drove through magically beautiful landscapes, but unfortunately nowhere a stop. This is only good as a means of transport to Sterling. Definitely not recommended if you want to see the particularly beautiful nature of Scotland.
It was good, though the weather was bad :-). Our driver/ excursion guide, Robert, was knowledgeable and friendly, but had a strong Scottish accent such that it was difficult for me, a native English speaker to understand much of what he said. For those forthcoming English is a second language, I strongly suggest asking for a translator.
Colin was good. Loch Loman was a waste of time but Stirling Castle was okay. He did take us into the forest/park but overall it’s not the best use of your time
Be aware they will cancel if they do not have enough sales to warrant a trip although I was on a ship that held 3800 people that was in town. I was able to get their email 5 days before the trip, but was on a 12 day cruise and was lucky I had bought the internet package otherwise I would have not had any idea of the cancellation while abroad. Of course then it was too late on the ship to buy a sold out shore excursion to Stirling Castle, so my trip to Scotland did not include this wonderful feature and the cost of a Taxi, Bolt, Uber was cost prohibitive. I'm leaving two stars because they communicated and refunded.
Hi Dawn It is exceptional that we cancel a tour. Even with low numbers we normally operate the tour, but on this occasion we could not secure a smaller vehicle with a licensed Driver-Guide. I sincerely apologise for the disruption to your shore arrangements. if You email us directly at office@yourshroetime.com, we would be happy to provide you with a complimentary excursion when taking your next cruise.
Driver did not show up! Would never use Viator or Trip Advisor again! Local guy said it has happened before, so beware! Being stranded is not a good experience!
Good Morning, We emailed and massaged you to advise that the tour was not able to proceed due to operational reasons. I am sorry that you did not pick up your emails, which were sent via teh Viator booking platform.
DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR!!! Yes, you can visit Stirling Castle but after that, nothing in the description is true! No guide, nor A/C on the bus and no respect of the itinary! We had one day and it was totally ruined! And after that, silence radio from the tour and from Viator. Keep your money and book with someone else, they are awful.
Dear Danielle Unfortuantely teh guide allocated for this service had to cancel at teh last minute, due to illness. Our customer Service team is in teh process of contacting guests to discuss compensation.
-no tour guide, just the driver -meeting point was not labeled, causing a lot of confusion -driver was not aware of the itinerary -no AC on the bus in the summer heat -received about 10 emails in the past week regarding this trip
Good Morning, Unfortunately due to ill health we had to operate this service with a Driver acting as Driver-Guide. I will be responding to you directly to identify the issues you had.
