Itinerary
Discover the beauty of Giverny, the peaceful village where Claude Monet lived and found his inspiration. With its untouched charm and authentic atmosphere, it feels like stepping into a postcard.
There are two distinct gardens on Claude Monet's property. The lovely Clos Normand has hundreds of types of flowers in bloom throughout the spring, summer, and fall. You'll for sure recognize the bold purple Iris' lined pathways and the spicy, orange and yellow Capucines that climb on the arches just in front of his pink house with green shutters.
Waterlillies!!! The Japanese garden on Claude Monet's estate is the most famous as it has a green bridge and a waterlily-filled pond. Your guide will lead you directly to it and help you get the best souvenir photos! You'll see the precise spots where Monet painted from and compare the paintings with what you see in real life.
Monet's Colorful Home: Claude Monet lived here for more than 40 years and raised 8 children. Inside you will see his artist workshop as well as the personal decor and colorful paint that he put in every room. Groups are not allowed into the home as space is very limited inside. So, you will be given free time to explore inside on your own.
Graveside visit: Visit the final resting place of Claude Monet and pay your respects to the great man himself. His tomb is hidden away in a little countryside church's graveyard. Your guide will take you to it and share many of Monet's life stories that went beyond his art but still affected it.

Driver was very knowledgable. Van was comfortable. Giverny was terrific!
This tour would have been fine, except for the extreme heat, and the tour company did not even send a cooler with water along with us, as most Tours we’ve experienced would do (even not in such extreme weather)! Most of us had a water bottle, but by the time we arrived at Giverny, the water was warm… and after walking around the extremely hot gardens, we desperately needed more. The only water available was sold in a machine in the gift shop for which there were long lines. (Each bottle cost two euros). One of the passengers (not an older person), had a severe reaction to the 100° F heat! But all of us were extremely uncomfortable. When I asked the tour guide/driver why the Tour company did not provide a cooler with cold water for the eight of us, he said they are a new company, that it was an inexpensive tour, and that this might be something that Americans do, but it is not customary for the French. So…the French do not appreciate record-breaking heat temps in summer? C’est un peu incroyable! To be fair, our Giverny tour guide/driver was surely hot, as well, and had already led an earlier tour there from Paris. He was fine as a guide, sharing information about Monet and the area. It occurs to me that the Tour company (Blue Fox?) likely didn’t offer him any cold water either!🥵 The tour operators are not identified in Viator, but I would ask about it and avoid doing any of this company’s tours again!
Thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear that the extreme heat affected your experience and made the day uncomfortable. We completely understand how challenging the conditions were during the heatwave, and we appreciate you highlighting the situation. Please note that on our tours, we do not provide food or water, and guests are kindly asked to bring their own, especially on full-day excursions. However, our tours do include a lunch break where refreshments can be purchased. Our guides are also always happy to stop en route if guests need to buy water. Kind regards, - Alice
Gardens were beautiful and we had a very nice time exploring the gardens. Not much to see in the house. Tour was self directed which we knew and were ok with. If you are looking for a historical guided tour this is not the one for you.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the beautiful gardens and had a pleasant time exploring. We appreciate your note about the self-guided format and understand this may not suit those looking for a fully guided historical tour. - Alice
Enjoyable visit to Giverny with Nicholas Good directions to the meet up where Nicholas was waiting to welcome us. He was very communicative throughout our time together. First stop at the cemetery before heading to the beautiful house & gardens. There was ample time to enjoy everything without rushing & the small group was ideal. Transport was comfortable & thankful for air conditioning on such a hot day. Merci Nicholas from the Canadians!

It was an incredible tour, with a wonderful tour guide. It allowed me to see Giverny when I may not have otherwise been able to as a solo traveller. It was so nice to sit back and relax and have everything sorted! The gardens and the house itself was an incredible experience too.
Our guide, Alfonso was knowledgeable. The group enjoyed his sense of humor. Plus with the tour you can skip the line.
Thank you for your kind review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour and Alfonso's knowledge and sense of humor. We'll be sure to share your feedback with him. We hope to welcome you on another tour soon! Kind regards, - Alice
Brunhilde was terrific! Very knowledgeable, energetic and likeable. My family and me enjoyed our tour.

This was a great tour. You get to see the beautiful countryside of Normandy on your drive to Giverny. The tour guide, Brune from Brie, was so informative not only on local history but also on the best way to explore the gardens. I would highly recommend this tour.
Our guide Ryan was knowledgeable and friendly and the tour of the house and gardens met our expectations. Comfortably van for eight guests.
