Germantown Neighborhood Food & Sightseeing Walking Tour

Description
Sample local meats, locally produced spirits, handmade chocolates and unique specialty foods while you exploring the historic neighborhood of Germantown on our walking food and cultural tour. Germantown is Nashville's oldest neighborhood and one of its newest and trendiest redeveloped areas. Its brick-lined streets, Victorian homes, and quaint shops have been updated to include food and drink experiences that you won't want to miss! Along the way, you'll visit the Farmer's Market, walk through the fountains, flagpoles, and bell towers at Bicentennial Mall, pass the Walk of Counties, Sulphur Dell Park, and walk over the top of historic French Lick Creek, as we share the stories of Nashville's early years and its current culture, all with a knowledgeable and fun local guide and a small group of fellow food adventurers!

Itinerary
We'll start the tour with the beautifully designed Bicentennial Mall, where fountains, carillons, unique plazas, and a stunning view of the capitol building all set the tone for an informative and delicious tour.
Adjacent to the State Park is Nashville's nationally recognized Farmers Market, home to not only unique and locally made foods, but also artisans and craftspersons who are excited to share their skills with the community.
You'll see the State History Museum on the way to additional food stops and a fascinating tour of Germantown, Nashville's first "suburb" and home to delicious foods and historic sites along with victorian architecture and brick sidewalks. The perfect place to stroll between food stops!
Along the way, experience a total of five food and drink tastings, making up plenty of food for lunch for most participants. You'll taste local meats, baked goods and confections, and share a frosty cocktail and guided tasting at a hyper-local distillery.
Our family-owned distillery is the perfect place to cool off at the end of your tour with an included cocktail and a bright, airy place to rest after a little over a mile of total walking on the tour. Here, you'll learn how spirits are made and enjoy trying unique spirits. In total, the tour includes five tastings and about a mile of walking over about three hours. We can't wait to show you a great time in one of Nashville's most popular and historic areas!

Scott was our guide. Real interesting fellow who is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge on the history of Nashville and the legendary country/bluegrass music found there. Thoroughly enjoyed spending 3 hours with him sampling food & drink, touring the city park and going to the farmers market & Germantown. On our next trip to Nashville we hope to join up with him again.
The tour was okay. It is a lot of walking, and too few stops in between. We walked a very long time before we came to the first food stop. All of the food stops were crammed together at the end. And you didn't get much time to eat the food. It was a very hot day, and trying to eat all the food at once did not agree with my stomach. I wish they would have been spaced out more. I thought we were going to stop at the marketplace as advertised in the beginning of the tour, but we didn't. Our guide said it is a really good place and if we had time we should stop and check it out after the tour. That was very disappointing. Needless to say we weren't going to walk all the way back to where we started by the end of the tour. The guide was informative, but could have been more engaging. I believe his name was Ian, not positive.
Evan was the perfect combination of historian, comedian, and friendly tour guide. Evan gave us lots of insight tips about where to eat where to find things in town, and how to make the most of our experience as visitors. Evan was extremely friendly and approachable, and the food was delicious.
We got so lucky! We were supposed to go on a walking tour and the weather was awful! The tour company happily changed our tour to a driving tour and wow! We were blown away! Our guide Scott was OUTSTANDING! He made our tour so entertaining and informative - we laughed and laughed and the food and drink were the bonus! Thanks so much!
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, took the time and answered any questions. Good mix of alcohol and food.
Clark and Evan were very knowledgeable and friendly tour guides. We appreciated the information and all the food stops.
I think the whole tour was great,, so much information and great tasting samples.. I would advice everyone to take this tour.. Our tour director Scott was excellent it was well worth the money :)
Scott was excellent at knowing the history of Nashville. The map of Nashville was very interesting and the food was awesome.
Great tour. Our guide Evan was amazing. We really enjoyed all the fun facts and history. The food was amazing and the end at the distillery SO good. You will love LOVE this tour!!
Re: 1 stat due to lack of response from vendor I bought my event via trip advisor. After I realized I put in the wrong email address, I called their office and emailed multiple times/days to get a confirmation that I was booked on tour (the initial message from the trip advisor said they are checking if there is space on the tour). No one has responded. Which I find to be extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
