In April 2024, we booked this 3 day Gaspe tour from Montreal for our trip in August 2024 only to have the company call to cancel the trip less than 48 hours before it was to leave. Our entire trip to Montreal had been planned around the tour dates. Our tour was to have been in the middle of the week we were spending in Montreal. We suddenly found ourselves without a tour that had been my travelling companion’s dream and without any accommodation in Montreal. When we asked Concord what we were supposed to do about accommodation they just said they would refund our money for the tour. We could not take the tour later as we had firm travel dates and airline tickets back home. We did manage to get a hotel room for the 2 nights but paid a premium as it was last minute during high season. We were very disappointed and angry at how Concord treated us. Think twice before booking with Concord as they don’t seem to have good business practices
The driver, Jean-Pierre, was excellent. My entire party of 7, including 4 seniors, felt safe throughout the trip. However, the tour guide, Thomas, was a mystery to us. He took the group to fast-food places before reaching hotels because "there would be nowhere to eat." Why would Concord choose hotels so badly located? At one point, he took the entire tour group to a supermarket before going to the hotel. He was particularly critical of a restaurant called Pastali. However, my party and I ate at that hotel, and it was the best meal we had for the entire trip. And the service at the restaurant was excellent. To me, it's obvious that Thomas is a liar, or at the very least, he doesn't know anything about the places he is supposedly guiding people to. One member of my party is 75 years old, and she walks with a cane. And yet, Thomas expressed surprise that we didn't not join him on a 2-hour trek on Bonaventure Island. What kind of tour guide is this? I rarely eat fast food but that pretty much most of what I had on this trip. The buffet lunch was 2 out 5 stars. We drove past so many nice restaurants and shops, but we were never given the chance to try anything local or special to Gaspe. This tour guide seemed to be operating on a completely different understanding of what a holiday is. The lesson that I've learned is "never again."
We are really sorry for your bad experience. Since the Gaspe 3 days trip has a tight itineary, so the tour guide cut the time on the meals. We already let him improve this and give more time for the clients to explore the local food. Really sorry for that.
Very pleasant trip. The guide Mr.Cui and driver are quite nice and professional. Highly recommended!
Thanks to Thomas, it was a really good experience! Love Bonaventure Island, would like to go there another time.
Such a good trip! Thanks Thomas and driver! It’s a short and sweet trip, it’s a bit cold even in summer, need to prepare a coat for any weather unknown.
Wonderful, really enjoyed the trip, one hotel was really Nice and other half, but still loved! Thomas the guide was good and cool
The tour company, Concord, should have handled things better. Our guide, Thomas is neither proactive nor reactive. 1. Masks should be required inside the bus, or at least ask those who were coughing to wear masks. Tour guide, Thomas coughs a lot. So do some tourists. They should've been stricter given covid. We had to wear a mask as those coughing did not. 2. We did not appreciate that commentaries were trilingual (English, French, Chinese) when we signed up for English only. We have to wait for the tour guide to switch to English everytime Thomas wants to describe something. 3. Allotted time for meals /buying food was rushed. How can you enjoy a meal if you are given an hour to eat lunch AND buy food for the next 2 meals within an hour (since we were told to buy our next dinner and breakfast too, as our 1st night hotel would not be near any open restaurants), when the stores are blocks away from each other? Tour wasnt prepared for Canada Day closures (or they used Canada Day as an excuse for their inefficiency). We were told to buy takeout from fast food places for our lunch, dinner AND breakfast (McDonald's, Subway, Tim Hortons, etc) with the promise that the second hotel, on the next evening, will be better than the first one. Thomas emphasized on the wide menu of this hotels restaurant .... But when we arrived at the second hotel, the restaurant did not offer anything except for spaghetti w meat sauce, spaghetti w red sauce, and chefs salad. THAT'S IT. Thomas was helpless. Bus driver refused to at least drive us to a place to buy food as UberEATS doesn't serve the area. The only available option to order pizza via delivery which is again technically bread to add to the only bread selection of the past 4 meals. It's a huge international group and I'm sure some are non-beef eaters like us. Ordering online would take time and will cut down rest time for us so most just skipped dinner entirely. 4. Complimentary ride to our rental was awkward . The coordination between our tour guide and the van driver didn't go well either. Grumpy driver. We liked Philip , the driver who fetched us from the rental better. All the sites we visited were really nice. Just expect bus rides to be long and how they handles food wasnt good.
First time traveller with Concord... & Definitely planning on future trips! In 3 days, visited Rimouski, Percé & Gaspé: Couldn't have planned it better myself! Accommodations were great too. Wonderful experience, thanks to our guide Mei & driver Simon... & The beautiful weather we had!
Observe closely the colony of gannets, during a hike, as well as animals of the forest (fox and manure) Admire the beautiful wilderness and the Métis Garden in late July and early August. The trip was a success thanks to several factors, here are some: the good weather; the trip organization that met my needs; the exceptional Service and friendliness of the staff (Quan Xin and Christian); the bus and accommodation of very good quality and cleanliness; the travelers.
Wow, What an amazing 3days. It was excellent. We visited so many places + Bonus areas. The guide Quan knows his stuff, from the best food around. Giving you updated as if you were siting in 1st class from a plane to Europe or Australia. He was there along the way to make sure knows, was left behind and safe. I will recommend Concorde to my family for the 3days trip to Gaspe. It,s good to do it with your family, very instructive for the kids while creating new memories. We were all wearing our mask on the bus and every where so bring your mask. and also will be providing some as well.
