Full-Day Wine Tasting at Lake Balaton Private Tour from Budapest

Description
The northern shore of Lake Balaton is one of the most unique landscapes of Hungary. Along this tour we would like to show you the less touristy, off-the-beaten-path treasures of the region. Since for both of us working at Wine it Up this region is a second home, you can trust us on picking the best of it for you to show.

Itinerary
During the way in and out from the city, we are going to drive through the iconic white bridge in the heart of Budapest.
During the way in and out from the city, we are going to drive by the iconic Royal Palace in the heart of Budapest.
We enter the village of Tihany and its historic center, the tiny cute streets packed with thatched roofed houses. On the top of the hill we visit the magnificent abbey and its small museum. Lastly, all we have to do is sit back, we will have some coffee and fine cakes on one of the most panoramic terraces of lake Balaton. Here we make sure you have some time remained for some shopping, too.
During our walk through the UNESCO world heritage listed village, we will have a sneak peak into the distillery, where all the locally grown lavender starts his journey towards becoming small-scale scented cosmetics.
Just a few minutes drive away Csopak, which is located on a pretty hill, has a lovely wine scene with a lot of colourful events and adorable venues. We will stop by one of them to taste some great wines from the local vineyards.
This is one of our personal favourites. This charming hill patched with family-run wineries is a remnant of a volcano, which is reflected in the character of its wines. Here we will visit two of the traditional wine-producing families and have a delicious lunch on one of heir beautiful terraces accompanied by their best wines.
On our way back to Budapest we would love to show you some spectacular micro-environments of the Balaton Uplands.

Our guide, Krisztina, made our visit to Lake Balaton extremely memorable. She was very knowledgeable and so friendly. We loved spending time with her in an incredibly picturesque setting. The winery was beautiful, the wine was delicious, and the hostess was so kind and thoughtful. Highly recommend this tour.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Monica! It was truly a pleasure spending the day with you at Lake Balaton. I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the wines we tasted. It means a lot to know the experience was memorable for you. Wishing you many more amazing travels, and I hope to welcome you back to Hungary someday!
What a fantastic day. Kriszti, our guide was brilliant. Really knowledgable and shared our passion for wine and the local area. We had a great day out and nice to get out of Budapest for the day.
Hey Guys, let me truly thank you for this awesome review, with Anita we are glad to read your kind rows about our tour, it is higly appreciated! It was honestly a great and fun day we spent together around the lake, and we hope to see you again on an other tour in the future. :) Warm regards, Kriszti
Anita & Krisztina, our tour guides, are colleagues and friends. They work together to ensure the best possible experience for their clients. They are friendly and easy-going and truly made us feel at ease. Moreover, they are really passionate both about wine and the Lake Balaton region, and this greatly reflects in the quality of their work. The price cannot exactly be deemed cheap, however when compared to other similar day tours and when taking into consideration that everything throughout the day was included, I honestly think it is a reasonable one. In conclusion, this was an informative and fun tour, definitely a day well spent! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a short break from the city.
