John O’Neill our driver was great craic, as well as informative! It’s hard not to like the views in Ireland and using the bus is definitely a better way to see them than by car…especially for the one who may be driving! Thoroughly enjoyed the sheepdog at work session.
Johnny Quinlan, was our driver/guide, he was very professional in his job. On the day we went on the tour he had to overcome two serious accidents which he had to take diversions of the main ring of Kerry route. Johnny is friendly ,helpful and can't do enough to help all passengers on his bus, excellent service Johnny.
Wow!! What an experience!! Johnny Quinlin was our tour guide. He is from the area and has deep family roots. We ran into quite a bit of hiccups and he smoothly navigated us through them all! We stopped for a quick Irish coffee at the village and it was so delicious! At this time, Johnny found out there had been a near fatal accident on the road to ring of Kerry. He quickly got in touch with his contacts to see about taking another route to get us there. We stopped at the sheep/dog show, which was one of my favorite stops. It’s a family owned farm showing how he used the dogs to herd sheep. It was truly amazing! Johnny informed us we would be taking the detour. On the narrow roads we ran into a “stand off” with traffic coming the other way. Johnny got out to notify the drivers and they detoured into driveways and little spots to allow the bus to cross. He was efficient and calm. The ring of Kerry was stunning! Lunch was served and was just “okay” and quite pricey. I’m sure it is one of the only options to get a large group fed. We were working our way back to Killarney when another road closure occurred due to an accident up ahead. Johnny was able to turn the bus around and took another new route. He remained calm and continued the tour with lots of history of commentary as if there was no hitch. He made a couple additional stops to break up the extra hour we had to add to the trip. He was absolutely amazing and the tour was fabulous!! This company is very lucky to have him. He was able make the trip an amazing experience despite the road closures and new routes. Book the tour! You will not be disappointed!
Great tour much thanks to our guide David O’Neill. Funny and informativ! Well worth the price!
The Ring of Kerry was full of gorgeous views! I enjoyed all of our stops. The Bog village is a little bit kitschy but interesting and petting the Irish wolfhounds was fun. The sheepdog demonstration was fun to see but focused more on the dogs than the sheep. Our shopping and food stops were nice as well. We stopped several times to admire the scenery and take pictures, which was appreciated but at times a little rushed. John was a great tour guide (although I think he needs a new microphone - had the audio cut out here and there). If I had to give constructive criticism, I would have liked for admission to all stops to be included in the price of the tour and I would have liked a stop or two where we could hike around or spend a little time in one of the towns we passed through. It felt like a lot of time sitting on the bus.
We met the Wild Kerry Day tour bus at 10:30am. The meeting location was very convenient to our hotel in Killarney. The tour lasted until 5:pm. Our Tour Guide was John O'Neal (aka - The King of the Ring). John was very knowledgeable and funny. And have nerves of steel to navigate the very narrow road around the Ring of Kerry. This tapd is not for the faint of heart. We made three stops for food and drinks, incl toilet breaks. We also made multiple stops at awesome viewpoints and overlooks. We would do the Wild Kerry Tour again. For sure!!
A very worthwhile enjoyable and experience. Michael our driver/tour guide very informative
Experienced driver David O’Neill safely navigated, kept on schedule, and was entertaining throughout. Definitely take advantage of the sheep herding stop if offered.
Very beautiful excursion that allowed us to get Irish anecdotes from our guide and to have a superb view of the important points. We had thought about doing the tour on our own, but honestly, for the price it was worth it! Our guide Johnny, super friendly, smiling, a good storyteller and not to forget, an excellent driver (very important on these small roads!!) I recommend it!
Very comfortable bus. Driver guide full of humor and good advice on the sights of the tour. Magnificent Kerry landscapes in excellent weather conditions. However, no visits to natural sites or cities.
