Itinerary
Explore the healing waters of the travertines and Hierapolis of Pamukkale on this day tour. Be picked up from your hotel in Kusadasi or Selcuk and take a three hours drive enjoying the views of the countryside.
Pamukkale, meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, is one of the natural wonders of Turkey, a hillside of white terraces or travertines formed over thousands of years by the minerals bubbling up through hot springs feed from the depths of the earth. Start exploring the ancient city of Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city is unique from all other ancient cities in being built not on earth or rock but on solid limestone layers formed by mineral rich waters that flowed for millennia over this raised level plateau. Hierapolis means “sacred city” and it was given this name because of the large number of temples located here.Today, the theatre, the Temple of Apollo and the Necropolis are among the most significant sites of interest in Hierapolis. During the tour you will see the Necropolis (Cemetery) of Hierapolis, one of the largest ancient burial sites in Anatolia; a Roman bath, the Gate of Domitian, the main street of the ancient city, the Byzantium Gate and the Ploutonion.
Enjoy the healing waters of Pamukkale and walk in the natural warm water terraces, which were formed by running warm water rich in calcium. The temperature of the water is about 35 Celsius year round. You will have the chance to see the gleaming white travertine terraces of Pamukkale, located next to the ruins of Hierapolis. The extraordinary effect is created when the water from the hot springs sheds the minerals it contains as it flows down the slopes, leaving deposits of limestone. The layers of white calcium carbonate, built up in steps on the plateau, gave the site its name of 'cotton castle'. Take the OPTIONAL chance to have a swim at the antique pool of Cleopatra's.
Enjoy a local lunch after the tour and take the chance to have look at the Turkish traditional handcrafts.
At the end of a memorable day you'll be dropped back to your hotel in Kusadasi or Selcuk around 18.30 - 19.00 pm.

Pamukkale is a beautiful place, the pools seem to have come out of a dream. The name "Pamukkale" "Cotton Castle" describes perfectly. Our guide, in Spanish, was very descriptive and showed a lot of attention with us.
Our guide, Mustafa Kamel, is very knowledgeable and informative of the history and background of the various places we visited. He is approachable, respectful and attentive to passengers’ needs. Our pick up and drop was on time and we were transported in clean and comfortable bus. Lunch provided was also a nice buffet spread. I thoroughly enjoyed my day trip to Pumakale thanks to guide and driver, who kept us all safe.

It was a true pleasure to discover Pamukkale and Ephesus in the company of Azer. We commend his professionalism, as well as his good humor and patience. As for Mustafa, the driver, he was impeccable. A big thank you to both of you! Maite Philippe

Thank you for your kind review 😊
The activity meets all parameters. But the problem is that it rained and the agency that took us didn't provide us with plastic pilots, they wouldn't let us go buy them ourselves. Even as a group we demand to go and buy for ourselves the pilots and not get wet. The guide didn't speak Spanish so well
Muchas Gracias 😊
I highly recommend Crowded House Tours. Our Azer guide was the best. Very friendly at all times and with extensive knowledge about the places visited. I loved Ephesus' visit. Driver Hasan very friendly and excellent driver. I'd pick them a thousand times. Thank you x do your job with love.
Muchas Gracias 😊
Excellent day! In PAMUKALE wear a swimsuit and dare to get in! Unfortunately it is always a short time to go through everything when something is so beautiful. They gave us 2 hours for pools and Hérapolis. I opted for the pools and would have liked to see the theater and museum. But I'll take a bath.
Muchas Gracias 😊
