Get to know the locations where Game of Thrones was filmed in Peñíscola, you'll learn all about this TV series in Peñíscola. We will visit the town of Peñíscola from Valencia, it is one of the most beautiful towns in Spain, it is on the coast and its old town is walled. You will learn about the history of the town and its most emblematic buildings. The old town is similar to Santorini in Greece. You will have an official guide with a guide's license who will guide you throughout the tour of Peñíscola. You will also visit the famous castle of Pope Luna where Pope Luna (Benedict XIII) took refuge, it is one of the best preserved castles in Spain and it is also the last castle built by the Templars, you will learn about the history of the Templars and Pope Luna. With an official and accredited guide who shows and tells you about the old town, the GOT and the castle, other tours do not have an accredited guide and neither show you nor tell you anything about Peñíscola. We go out with a minimum of 2 people, we do the tour with few people.

Itinerary
The transportation from Valencia to Peñíscola is 1:30 hours.
We will visit the old town of Peñíscola where I will tell you its history. You will also see the places where Game of Thrones was filmed. You will be able to walk through its streets and take beautiful photos as well as see some important buildings.
We will stop to eat at a restaurant.
We will see the castle inside. With texts you will know the entire castle. Each room in the Castle comes with texts in Spanish and English where they explain what each room was, in the castle you read the signs and watch videos.
You have one hour of free time to visit the castle garden, go shopping, take a walk through the old town or go to the beach.
When we finish we will return to Valencia in which it takes 1:30 hours to reach the same meeting point.

It was a beautiful tour and if you love Game of Thrones, this tour is for you! There were many non-show related things to see but the scene places were quite cool as well. The ride is about 1.5 hours and you do a quick restroom break in the middle of the ride which is much appreciated. Our guide was Toni, and he was spectacular. He was kind and patient with my partner and I after being late. (Totally our fault). He was understanding and thankfully a great coordinator because our tour was unaffected by our interruption. Toni did a wonderful job of explaining things on the tour, taking pictures for us and adding in extra conversation and facts. He was truly an amazing guide. I highly recommend this tour if you’re into Game of Thrones and want to also see the castle! The place we ate lunch at was yummy and had a great view. (Note: there is a beautiful beach in Peñíscola, if you go straight there after the castle you might have time to get in, and you only have 1 hour of free time, we wanted to get in but the time was flying)

Very nice tour with our gide Toni, he did the tour with passion and humor and we enjoyed it. Peñiscola is a beautiful little town. Good food, nice group and a very good gide! Could spend days there instead of hours.

Antonio, Tony, was an excellent guide! This was an amazing trip. It does have a lot of walking including lots of uneven surfaces so listen to the warnings in the description. The photo opportunities are priceless.

This was an excellent excursion and one of the highlights of our time in Spain. As cruise passengers, we had a limited schedule, and our guide went above and beyond to accommodate us. He thoughtfully rearranged the itinerary so that all of the guided portions of the tour took place at the beginning of the excursion, allowing us to leave early and return to our ship with plenty of time. His flexibility and consideration were greatly appreciated. The tour itself was comprehensive and engaging, providing an excellent overview of the historic castle and old town of Peñíscola. Fans of Game of Thrones will especially enjoy learning about the filming locations and seeing the settings that appeared in the series. Even for those unfamiliar with the show, the history and architecture of the castle are fascinating. Peñíscola is a charming coastal city with beautiful views, picturesque streets, and a relaxed atmosphere. It is well worth visiting in its own right. If you have already explored Valencia and are looking for something different, this tour offers a refreshing change of pace and a chance to experience one of Spain's most attractive historic seaside towns.

We went to Peñíscola with my husband and were enchanted. The guided tour with Toni was the highlight of the trip: his ability to tell the stories of the Templars and Pope Luna transported us back in time. In addition to the beauty of the castle (which fans of 'Game of Thrones' will recognize immediately!), we greatly appreciated the human aspect of the trip, meeting friendly travelers from Argentina and London. And of course, a true Valencian Paella could not be missing, enjoyed in a perfect setting. A 5-star experience!

Very great tour from start to finish. We had a smaller group, it was so fun to learn about everyone else that joined us. Our guide was super knowledgeable on everything we passed by, pointed out many areas of interest on the way to and from our destination, and drove very well. It was definitely a full day but didn't feel overwhelming. We had many opportunities to explore and learn while having an excellent experience. Thank you!
