Paella Cooking Class, Wine Tasting & Central Market in Valencia

Description
Valencia is the birthplace of the world-famous paella - from the market to your plate, learn step-by-step how to make this traditional dish! First, your local guide will take you to visit Mercado Central de Valencia - Europe's largest food market. Here, you'll buy your fresh ingredients. For evening tours and tours on Sunday, the Central Market is closed so we will skip this step and go straight to the cooking! You’ll then go to the paella kitchen for a live paella workshop with a professional chef. Follow along step-by-step at your own cooking station and learn the local tips and tricks of what makes this dish so special. After the class, sit back and enjoy some local tapas, wine and, of course, your very own paella. Your paella cooking class Valencia finishes with a sweet treat before returning to the meeting point accompanied by the guide.

The paella cooking class isn't to be missed. It starts with a walk through the town to buy the ingredients and learn about the city of Valencia. Our class was in August and about the time we thought we'd die we ended up at an air conditioned, beautiful, well equipped commercial kitchen and dining room. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and supportive as the groups cooked their paella. The seemingly never ending wine certainly didn't hurt. We ate the food we'd prepared and drank more wine at a leisurely pace, but all good things must end or told it was time to go so they could get ready for their evening group. None of the groups wanted to leave it was such a great atmosphere. 10/10 would highly recommend.
I have been in Spain for over a month and half doing all sorts of one off day trips and tours and this is the best value for money so far. There were 14 of us with 7 work stations of two each. We met near the central market where we went and bought some ingredients. It was great seeing how our guide interacted with the shop keepers and to hear his stories. We then walked to the cooking class location where wine and snacks were waiting. We then started cooking and had more wine and snacks. Then we sat down and ate what we cooked and had more wine. Then we had dessert. Everyone got to know one another. Daniel C was a masterful chef keeping us on track and educating us. Olivia was great on explaining the wines. If you didn't drink which was half the group there were non alcoholic options. Just an absolutely fabulous time. Highly recommend
This was by far the best experience we had in Valencia. Victor and his team were simply amazing, guiding us thru the whole experience. Food turned out to be so tasty. Highly recommend.
This was the best tour and cooking class experience I have ever had. Both Megan and Olivia were very knowledgeable and had superb personalities which made the experience much more enjoyable. I would recommend finding some time to book this paella cooking experience.
Our experience was absolutely fantastic and truly one of the highlights of our time in Valencia. Daniel met us first, and then Cormac led us on a fun mini walking tour as we made our way toward the building, sharing stories about Valencia along the way. Cormac was knowledgeable, funny, and engaging, and his sense of humour added so much to the experience. Once we arrived, Daniel was a wonderful host. We loved learning about both the history of Valencia and the origins of paella, as well as discovering some of the “magic” behind making it—how the ingredients, aromas, and flavours all come together to create something so special. Of course, making and eating our own paella was incredible, but one of the unexpected highlights was getting to know the other participants and sharing the experience together. It felt much more personal and unique than simply taking a cooking class; it was a wonderful combination of food, history, culture, laughter, and meeting new people. My family and I had an amazing time, and it is an experience we will remember for a long time. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Valencia. Thank you, Daniel and Cormac, for making it such a special and memorable experience!
Wonderful morning spent cooking and learning more about history of paella and Valencia with Daniel and Cormac! This experience was great; Our paella Valenciana was delicious as was the wines/cava and most of all company . Highly recommend taking this course.
Great class. We will be able to take the info home and apply the techniques to our next paella. The tapas, pintxos and wine were all tasty.
From the central market shopping, walking tour of the city, the cooking class to enjoying our meal with new friends from around the world, this experience with Daniel and Olivia was spectacular!
