Pick up from our hotel, stress-free tours, clear explanations from our super driver Andreas despite the fact that we do not speak Italian. Andreas found us a beautiful table for a delicious meal, a taxi without waiting in Vesuvius... A huge thank you to you, dear Sir, our day was immensely rich in magnificent discoveries and very pleasant thanks to you!
The driver seemed friendly and nice, but the car was shaking as we were driving. He said the “company” had just got the tires done so maybe they had too much air in them. He said he was possibly going to get a different car once we got to our tour since we would be on our own for a while before the hike. The tour and volcano hike were nice, but on the way back the car ended up blowing a tire. We sat on the side of the highway for 1.5 hours waiting for someone to bring a tire since the car had no spare in it. The driver kept saying “ I don’t know what to do I’m just the driver.” He said when we got home to request a refund and he would tell the boss since we shouldn’t have to pay for this. Once we got home we started looking into the website on his business card and he appeared to be the owner. Being business owners ourselves, we know how it can be when problems come up so we decided to only request half of a refund since we did enjoy the tours, and realize stuff happens, but he denied the refund. In the end we felt lied to and unsafe and a little taken advantage of, so I would not recommend this tour.
Dear Sirs, A flat tire can happen to anyone. In your case, you waited an hour, and I'm sorry, but that's the waiting time for a flat tire, since the cars are equipped with devices that repair the tire, not a spare. You waited an hour, and the mechanic arrived and fixed the tire, since it couldn't be repaired with the device provided. Actually, I can say that the repair service was very fast, especially when you had a flat tire on the highway. The tour went perfectly, as you told the driver, and you had a wonderful day, as you mentioned to the driver before the flat. Best regards.
What an absolute amazing day, if you can I would highly recommend taking the private tour (with Andrea’s) hotel pick up and nothing is too much trouble, your own car to rest and relax and stops if required to freshen up. He explained the whole itinerary and even organised a private tour guide so no big groups . Pompeii is amazing, lots to see a definite place to visit when in Rome. Then our driver met us outside advised us on eating places and rest rooms and helped with the transport to mount versuvius as cars not allowed to the top. Andreas even organised for us to be dropped off on the way back down do we could relax in his comfortable car saving so much more time and travelling. Mount Vesuvius to quite something it’s not for the unfit it’s steep but you can go at your own pace. We were not blessed with good weather ( raining and so much cloud) and we couldn’t see into the volcano but it was still worth going. Thank you Andreas for a great day
