Great tour! It’s an hour long and so interesting. There are lots of steps up and down all on lava rocks but they’re not slippery at all! Plenty of hand rails For you. Beautiful drive from downtown Reykjavik
Hi there, thank you for the kind review. Glad the lava tunnel was a great hour, and the note on accessibility is useful for future visitors. Arctic Adventures Team
It was a great tour. I learned a lot about volcanos. The guide was very engaging.
Hi there, thanks for sharing! The Lava Tunnel is a good way to get a feel for how the volcanic side of Iceland actually works underground, and a guide who can make the geology click is half the trip. Would be happy to welcome you on other tours as well! Arctic Adventures Team
Awesome my husband has a prosthetic leg and was delighted he could do this tour real bucket list moment and the little stop at the geothermal was an added bonus so thank you Simon for being so helpful and Alex at the cave’s hilarious 🤣
Loved this- we were three adults and three kids aged 10. Kids loved the adventure, and the guide was really funny and informative.
I had an amazing time! The walk itself wasn't very strenuous (though watching where you step is a good idea), and I learned a lot. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the lava tube specifically and about general Icelandic volcanology. She also gave us plenty of time on the way out of the tunnel to take as many pictures as we wanted. I highly recommend this excursion if you have a free morning.
Dear Maddie, Thank you for your wonderful review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed exploring the Lava Tunnel and found it both informative and manageable. It is great to know that our guide’s knowledge of the lava caves and Icelandic volcanology added to your experience, and that you had plenty of time to capture photos. We truly appreciate your recommendation and are glad you had such an enjoyable morning with us. - Arctic Adventures Team
Visited the lava tunnels when on a break with the family. The guide Javier was very knowledgeable. He made the visit very enjoyable. It’s good to understand more about Iceland, how it was formed and its history. The tunnel tour does not last long. Maybe 30 mins. It was completely fine. It’s cold in there but was not slippy or strenuous. Did climb over a few boulders. But 99.9% of the tour is in a walkway / path. There are steps to walk up and down down. Very enjoyable visit
Dear Stacey, Thank you for choosing us for your Lava Tunnel exploration! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the experience and learned so much about our beautiful country. We truly appreciate your kind words about Javier—he will be thrilled to know that his knowledge and passion made your visit even more special. As the excursion is classified as easy, we’re pleased to hear that you found it comfortable and not strenuous. Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you on more of our adventures in the future! - Arctic Adventures Team

Excellent experience to be had by all The guide was very knowledgeable. The cave guide made it very interesting and we learned a lot. Good value for money Ideal for young children up to adults
We had a great morning at the Lava Tunnel after our golden circle tour was cancelled due to weather. Franklin our guide was incredible - friendly, funny and very knowledgeable! He filled our bus journey with stories and anecdotes about Iceland and its history which was excellent! He made the trip! The lava tunnel was great and well managed but wish it was slightly longer - another stop or two with some extra information as it was so interesting to be down there! All in all, a worthwhile trip and would recommend to anyone! I learnt a lot
It was not worth the time, cost and effort to do this trip. When we got to the cave it was amazing but only to find out they take you only 20 feet into the cave
