Me and my family went with Captain Dan for father’s day and we had an awesome time!!! It was my first time going on a sail boat and he let me, my mom, and my dad drive the boat for a little while to get a feel of the boat. I had a nice time and it was truly one of the best fathers day we’ve had together!!!
Savanna,You did a great job at the helm.Glad your family had a memorable fathers day. Fair Winds, Captain Dan
Capt. DAN is a wonderful host. His wife, Tracey is so friendly and welcoming. The communication prior is fantastic. We had an amazing day on #windpirate. We were safe and the sailboat was very clean. Great music and conversation. The beanbag chairs on the bow were very comfy. We actually shut off the engine and sailed in the Atlantic Ocean. Great day!
Hi Guys, Thank you for your review. Captain Dan
I booked a sailing charter with A Day on the Water and it was fantastic! I booked it with the intention of proposing to my girlfriend. Captain Dan guided us through the amazing canals of the intercostal lined with massive multi-million dollar homes and boats to gawk at out to sea, where he turned off the engine and we sailed. He let me take the helm for a little bit which was great! Then we went back to Lake Sylvia, where the proposal occurred. Captain Dan coordinated with me to surprise her, telling her he was going to take a picture of us before we jumped in for a swim, but instead filmed as I got down on one knee. Needless to say she said “yes” and we had a magical trip back to the dock after. Highly recommend A Day on the Water and Captain Dan! He’s the man!
June has brought 4 engagements on the Wind Pirate.WE really enjoy being part of that.AS I proposed to my wife on a sailboat many years ago.It a good omen. Fair Winds, Captain Dan
Captain Dan was the best host!!! We had a charter planned for a friend’s birthday but it unfortunately had to be canceled due to bad weather. Captain Dan immediately refunded my deposit without me having to ask. He then later reached out with a new opening and graciously accommodated my friends and I on his boat for a day with beautiful weather! Could not be happier with our experience!!!
Captain Dan and his wife are the best! Couldn't recommend their services enough. Great experience, great people, and great vibes. If you want a boat tour in Fort Lauderdale this is the one!
You r correct. The best way to experience Ft Lauderdale is on the water.THank you. Fair Winds, Captain Dan
Captain Dan and his wife were incredible. Had an amazing time in the boat, got to sunbath, swim, and snorkel. Highly recommend!
Summer time calm winds bring a ocean swim. Glad you enjoyed. Fair winds, Captain Dan

Captain Dan and Tracy were amazing, and friendly.
Thank you
I booked this as a romantic day trip to surprise my boyfriend. I assumed it would be the two of us since it’s advertised as a private charter up to 6 people. I booked for the two us and we were on the boat for about 30 mins before we were told we had to pick up a family of 4 ( not the quiet romantic sail we were hoping for). Had I known we’d be with strangers I would’ve booked a larger tour boat. The tour was nice as was Capt Dan just not at all what I thought I was paying for.
Thank you for sharing your experience. As a small, family‑run business, we truly value every guest who steps aboard with us, and it’s important to me that each sail feels special and exactly as expected. I’m very sorry that this was not the romantic, private outing you intended to surprise your boyfriend with. To clarify, our charter is normally offered as a semi‑private experience, and it only becomes a private excursion when all available seats are booked by the same party. Unfortunately, a recent update made by Viator’s copywriting team unintentionally presented the tour as “private,” which understandably led to confusion. We’ve already requested that the listing be corrected, and Viator has confirmed the update is underway. I’m grateful that you still enjoyed the sail itself, and I appreciate your kind words about the experience on the water. I also understand that the outing wasn’t what you believed you were purchasing, and I’m glad Viator has already issued a full refund. I hope this helps make things right. We would love the chance to welcome you back in the future for the quiet, romantic sail you originally envisioned. Creating meaningful, memorable moments for our guests is at the heart of what we do, and we’d be honored to host you again whenever the time feels right. Fair Winds, Captain Dan
My visiting cousin and I thoroughly enjoyed our sail with Captain Dan of A Day on the Water sailing charter. The views while riding up the river, and the ocean sail, were tremendous. My cousin is a long-time sailor and enjoyed navigating the boat. Dan and Tracey are very welcoming and professional and safety and comfort for their passengers are a priority. I highly recommend Captain Dan
Thank you for your booking and your review. We are glad you the day on sail windpirate. Fair winds, Captain Dan
