My wife and I booked the Best of Ephesus tour for September 24 through Tours by Locals. Elif was very responsive and helpful in finalizing our tour plans, and Hasan was our tour guide. Hasan met us at the port terminal at 8:30 as arranged and led us on a short walk to our van with private driver. The van was very clean and comfortable. We first visited Mary's House and then traveled to Ephesus. We included the Terrace Houses in the tour, which was a good decision. The excavations of the Terrace Houses are impressive, as is all of Ephesus. Hasan was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and his English and familiarity with the U.S. was excellent. He shared insights into life in current Turkey, which we appreciated. Hasan respected my desire to avoid any carpet-making demonstration. He took us to a local Turkish restaurant for lunch, where we sampled typical Turkish foods-all good. After lunch, we visited the Temple of Artemis, which is unimpressive after the ruins of Ephesus, Athens, and Corinth. The tour lasted about 7 hours. We paid a little less for our private tour with Hasan than we would have for a group tour with our cruise ship, so it was a far superior value. You must see Ephesus, and you cannot go wrong booking a tour with Ephesus Port Tours.
We had a private tour with Mehmet and it was an unforgettable experience. Definitely recommend a private tour and it was very informative.
Ephesus has been our bucket list for years. When the time came we looked on TripAdvisor for your guides and companies. It was obvious which company and guide to select. The reviews did not steer us wrong. Hakan and his company met and exceeded any expectations. Charming, knowledgeable, detailed just a few adjectives of Hakan . You can't go wrong with Hakan.
Mary and I were escorted in an air conditioned 15 seater all to ourselves plus our guide Mehmet and driven Levent. The itinerary was as we wished but we were happy to go with the full one on the booking site. Mehmet was exceptionally knowledgeable on all the site visited particularly on Ephesus, which is a must visit site, especially the houses (under cover). Whilst the temperature was "only" 31C, umbrellas were provided. The suggested lunch venue was very good value. We certainly recommend Mehmet with Levent and Ephesus Tours.
We were a group of 15 people with 14 adults and one child. Ephesus Port Tours was so accommodating with us and Gokhan was an excellent tour guide. They Provided Umbrellas and headsets! I highly recommend this tour of Ephesus!
We had a private family tour with Ephesus Port Tours. Hakan was a great guide, very knowledgeable and full of good humour as well as informative throughout the day. We were able to take in the sites at our own pace, not needing to rush when we wanted to look at particular places in more detail. We saw the Ephesus ruins, the Ephesus museum and the Temple of Artemis. We enjoy our history and didn't want to feel rushed so this was perfect for our group. Highly recommended!
My family wanted to go round Ephesus and other local historic sites, and as we were a large group we decided to get a private tour. Our guide Hakan was fun, knowledgeable and gave us free rein to see whatever we wanted for however long we wanted. My one piece of advice to those contemplating the tour is that the visits to the 'factories' at the end aren't actually factory tours but rather outlet stores. We chose the leather factory as thought we would get to see how the coats were made but were led (after a catwalk that me and my brother hilariously had to join in on) straight to the shop, where none of the coats were less than 1,000 Euro. However this didn't dampen our enjoyment of the day, and I highly recommend these tours.
It was rainy day in izmir, Mr. Hakan was our private tour guider for visit Ephesus, virgin Mary’s House, Seven Sleepers and some other places near izmir in Turkey... He arranged everything for satisfaction such as umbrella! In Ephesus city and step by step he guides us to get best pictures, scape from dangerous and slippery marbles and some other things that no one do! I would like to tell you that Mr Hakan tried to do his best for our satisfaction and we are 100% satisfied, it’s very high score, but he could get it from us! I think no one is better than him for these tours!!! He was polite and knew everything! Hope you see him and enjoy the Ephesus tour...
