Itinerary
Also known as the the Tullianum during ancient times, Mamertime Prison once imprisoned Saint Paul and Saint Peter among many others.
One of Rome's majos basilicas, Saint Paul outside the Walls Basilica is the resting place of Saint Paul as his tomb is located here.
Tre Fontane Abbey also known as the Abbey of Saints Vincent and Anastasius stands on the site where St Paul was beheaded. At each of the three points his head bounced once beheaded a spring of water emerged, one hot, one tepid and one cold. Three fountains are featured in the church enclosed by black marble shrines, placed on different levels. Believed to be miraculous, water from these fountains used to be distributed for the faithful until the 1950 when the spring had to be closed due to pollution. The column where St. Paul was bound before being executed is also in this religious site. The Abbey will be included only in case Santa Maria via lata is closed
Nestled in a quiet corner of Rome’s Jewish Quarter, this historic church is traditionally believed to be built over the site of St. Paul’s own rented house, where he lived under house arrest while continuing to preach and write his epistles.

Diego was fantastic! We had to shorten our tour due to a conflict on our end and they accommodated our needs! Great info and we really appreciated the tour. Thank you! Highly recommend this tour for deeper Biblical perspectives of Rome.
This was the best tour we have ever had. Our guide, Rosa, was very knowledgeable about the history of Rome as well as Saint Paul and very personable and friendly. I would highly recommend this tour if you are interested in Bible history.
We booked this private tour with Vivicos- Rome Private Guides and had a great experience. Our guide Maria and our driver Valentino were fantastic and we had an amazing tour. We followed the footsteps of St. Paul in Rome and like a time machine went back to the times of the roman empire. Even though it is little bit expensive it is worth to pay for it , do not miss it if you go to Rome.
Absolutely amazing experience into the life of Saint Paul and seeing where he was imprisoned, where he was executed and his tomb in the Basilica. My guide was knowledgeable and interactive. A great experience!
Our guide Laura and driver Valentino were wonderful. Laura was full of historic and religious information and it was a pleasure to have her as our guide. She answered all our questions and was very thorough and fun. Valentino was thoughtful and always parked in the shade to keep our car cool. The tour company, after the 24 hour cancellation was over, notified us that the church where Paul was under house arrest for 2 years was closed (Basilica Santa Maria in Via Lata). I wish they would’ve let us know this info within the cancellation period so we could make a decision. Our second disappointment was the abbey where Paul was martyred, the springs exhibit was closed. This is not the guide’s fault more the tour company for not checking. As the tour was pretty pricey I did not think it was worth it.
Seeing where Saint Paul was imprisoned, lived, executed and buried was amazing. Our guide was so nice and knowledgeable! She knew all the answers to our questions!
This was definitely a tour of a lifetime. Renata and Valentino were wonderful. I am so glad we chose this for our 30th anniversary trip. The experience was incredible. Valentino picked us up at our hotel in a beautiful limo. Renata was our tour guide. She is sooo knowledgeable. The prison and the Basilica were amazing. We learned so much about the apostle Paul and Peter. We were never rushed and asked many questions along the way. It was truly a memorable tour. We are so grateful for the experience.
This was a wonderful tour! Our guide, Renata, was informed and engaging. Our driver was also excellent. The sites, especially the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls and the Abbey of the the Three Fountains, were beautiful and uncrowded. A must-see for anyone interested in the life of St. Paul!
A must for both history & Bible scholars. Out of 4 tours in Rome this one is by far the standout….better than the Vatican for sure. Our guide, Renata, was knowledgeable, personable and a very sweet person. We loved everything about this tour…100%+ recommend!!!
I would not recommend this tour company or group. We booked the Footsteps of St. Paul Rome Private tour in January 2023 and asked for a Sunday tour but was advised that the churches were not open and had to be a Saturday. So we chose Saturday tour with them but unfortunately, 2 days before the tour they asked if we could switch to Sunday. But we could not do that since we had other tours booked for Sunday and Monday and said we need to keep it on Saturday. But then they replied and said they need to cancel us for the Saturday tour. But unfortunately for us it was too late to get another tour booked on such short notice so I was pretty disappointed with how this was handled. I would therefore not recommend them in case they cancel close to your scheduled tour.
Dear Lisa, Thank you for your review, we will take into consideration to improve our services. Unfortunately we experienced issues in arranging your tour on Saturday, this is why we reached out to you a few days before to postpone it to Sunday. Since you were not available anymore, we provided the full refund for it.
