The experience started in a very negative way. We were met by a guide who put us on the train at the last possible moment while also telling us and trying to coordinate where we going at the end of the end of train ride. He told us one place only to find out it was a different place entirely that we had to try and walk to. We were trying to help the other couple with us who had issues with walking long distances. I would give the first part of the review a 2 out of 5 stars but once we met with Sara everything turned it around. She is an amazing tour guide who clearly shows the passion for her job, her city, and the art she shows. If you have the chance to have Sara as your guide you won’t be disappointed. Side note when attempting to contact the first guide to get more info about to meet he never answered his phone. Sara deserves a 7/5 star rating.
LivTours did an amazing job curating the day in Florence. The experience was seamless as we passed from Alessandro in Rome to Olga and Sara in Florence. I would highly recommend if you want to get away from Rome for a day.
Travel from Rome to and from Florence was great. We met guides at train stations with clear directions. Once we all met to start tour in Florence - I was a little confused on timeline. I think the guides could have provided more detail on itinerary and to ask group if they had any specific requests. We spent over 2 hours in uffizi museum and ran over. It wasn’t clear how much free time we would have and when from the start of day. Both guides were super passionate about their jobs - great story telling!! But wanted more communication and to ask if we were okay with itinerary. Also i would have liked to know the return train time in advance that was purchased by tour group bc i would have stayed longer in Florence. Getting to skip line and go straight to statue of David was the reason I booked this tour as well!
Gallerie Museum with statue of David, Venus de Milo painting, and history of the area and Medici. Loved the tour guides. Very knowledgeable and accommodating.
On our full day tour, half way through, two people dropped out and two new people joined. She repeated about a half an hour of information we had already heard. The description on the viator website was vague, so the trip did not meet our expectations. Emilia gave us an over view of the city of Florence. Talked about the 4 towers, good places to eat and shop. Took us to a really small church and I cant remember why. At the museums, she gave us too much information about certain painting/statues and skipped over other paintings. Not sure why. Also, asked us too many questions.
We were well-taken care of from the very start and throughout. A local guide provided our train tickets and helped ensure we got on the train to start our day successfully. This was great as it was our first time using the train system in Rome. The extra guidance was helpful. Once we arrived in Florence, Sara welcomed us and guided us through a terrific day! She catered the tour to our interests and shared her wealth of knowledge. Sara was very accommodating when we requested adjustments to the plan, which ensured all of us had an amazing experience. Sara is an amazing tour guide!
Lara was able to explain and show us details of the art work that we would never be able to have appreciated without her experience. She was able to navigate around the museum and talk about the history of Florence and how it influenced the artists paintings. We really enjoyed our time with Lara. One Recommendation is if there is a front of the line pass the museums that would be a benefit. The train ride was very nice and we enjoyed seeing the country during the ride. I would recommend this tour.
Seeing Florence. The guide was enthusiastic but left no time to shop for souvenirs on the bridge of gold or anywhere else. So we left the tour to do this. Should have a lunch included for the price we paid. Tour was rushed at times
Learned so much about art history. Got so much insight about the artists and their lives and techniques. Also walking around Florence and learning it’s unique history was amazing
My husband and I were the only 2 on our tour and this trip was GREAT! We met a guide at the train station who gave us our tickets helped get on the proper train. The train ride was nice and they had free wifi and got a free snack and drink. Then another guide met us at the station in Florence and walked us to where we met Sara, our city guide. Being only 2 of us, she answered all of our questions and prvoided tons of stories and information about all the places we visited. The tour management even gave me some beautiful mimosa flowers as an early present for International Women's Day. This trip was SUPER and we highly recommend it!
