I have always wanted to explore Gran Canaria but the roads terrify me so we booked the bus tour. Collected at 7.40am in Mogan and got back around 5.30pm so it is a long day (first pick up and drop off) We kept the same seats on the bus all day which was brilliant because I wanted to sit drivers side to be away from the edge. Each stop we had 20-30 minutes and that was perfect. The scenery is incredible. Stopped for lunch but you can bring your own (food was ok, not great and a set menu) Really great day, so glad we did it
Wonderful scenery and excellent local information from Carmella. The bus driver was very skilled going around the winding, steep mountain roads, with deep ravines and beautiful volcanic peaks. Would have preferred more time in Firgas to have a coffee and sit and appreciate the idyllic location. Loved the cave house and would have liked to have learned more about the family and how they have adapted to modern living whilst keeping their traditiomal family home. We enjoyed all of the stops. Thank you.
Early start from puerto Mogan but well worth missing breakfast for! Lovely trip hosted by a Canadian guy who passionately loves his home country! (Sorry forgot his name) . Very informative, lots of surprises around every sharp bend , the driver was calm and very experienced, got a few claps and cheers for his exceptional skills on very tricky roads ! such a Beautiful country with so many different climates along the way , vast array of flora and forna, even had fog and rain when we visited Firgas , then blazing sunshine on the way back . The “meal” At a restaurant was basic but welcomed after the morning trip and good value for €15 with wine or beer thrown in , Plenty of stops to take in the views, the Aloe farm was informative but felt like a hard sell , the lady hosting it was a little intimidating. The final village was stunning with time to look around. The travel company provided a mini bus for those the furthest away on the way back to puerto mogan and Puerto Rico to get home quicker , rather than having to drop ppl off in Masspalomass , much quicker and much appreciated * . Altho it would make sense to do this on the way there instead of spending two hours before the tour starts picking people up on the way ., we had had no breakfast as the restaurants at our hotels weren’t open till 8am so we were hungry and needed the loo! (Please note!) it’s the only down side tbh! Arrange a packed breakfast the night before ! Lovely trip , beautiful island , well worth the money !
If you want to discover the island, without the hassle of renting a car and driving yourself, then this tour is highly recommended! And lunch in between was decent for the price you paid for it. So are you in doubt? Just do it!
The day is long but very well organised. You are on and off the bus a lot. You spend just the right amount of time at each stop. The guide and coach driver are very informative. Most importantly toilet breaks are planned in. All in all a good way to see the south and north side if the island.
The tour was very informative and traversed all the various eco climates of the island. Our guide Carmelo was very informative and easy going. You spend a large majority of the day on the bus so be prepared for that. Definitely not a tour for you if you get car or motion sickness, or are a nervous passenger; it is a very winding course up and down the island terrain with some very narrow roads, but our driver was fantastic at navigating them. You can opt in for a preset plated lunch at one of the stops, you are given a few options to choose from. The lunch was good and included beer/wine or soft drink and dessert for approximately 15 euro pp. overall a very cool experience.
Nice day trip to see sth else than beach and pool! Interesting sites, anazing landscapes and views. First stop Agüimes a bit disappointing, I was expecting aboriginal caves but we saw a room in private house, a bit inside a rock (possibly misunderstanding of the programme). Starting from Firgas it got interesting. So good trip with lots of driving on very curvy mountain roads, amazing views on the way, and short stops. Big thanks to our guide Carnelo for all the insights!
The tour gives you a good glimpse of the island away from the tourist resorts. You do only get a short time at the stops so it is literally more of a photo stop and little potter around. We started in puerto Rico so had to make a fair few stops to pick up before we set off. My main down point was the lunch stop. The tour stops at a restaurant in the mountains The view is lovely but other than to eat in the restaurant there are no alternatives. The lunch offer is a great price of 15 euros but the food is mediocre. We would have all preferred more time at the stop prior to explore and maybe choose our own restaurant
There is a lot of getting on an off the bus. Need to be mobile as a lot of walking too. Not much time at each destination so make the most of it
I absolutely loved this trip. It gave a good overview of highlights on the island. I always wanted to see more of Gran Canaria then just the tourist areas and this excursion was really worth the money. Carmelo, our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable and spoke perfect in 3 languages. Jesus, the driver managed to get through all the small and narrow roads with great profession and ease and made me feel safe. The whole organisation was great from getting picked up from hotel to being returned plus all info beforehand from Viator and the organiser. I can only recommend this trip to anyone.
