Took the train from Rome to Florence. The train was fun and very easy to get around. Our guides were very friendly and helpful.
There is someone to greet you and help you navigate Rome Termini. You are met at Florence station. There is a short walking tour of beautiful city. Guide was informative of the sites. That’s it. Train tickets are included but return time cannot be changed. You are then left to wander Florence for FIVE hours and make your way back to the train station for return trip on your own. Grateful for Google and Apple Maps. Our return train to Rome was delayed for almost an hour, Florence station was a chaotic mess. We were lucky to have an Italian friend with us to translate the train announcements. Exhausting experience.
Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed the walking tour in Florence and found the guide informative. We’re sorry to hear that the return experience at the train station felt overwhelming. As noted in the tour description, the return train time is fixed and guests have several hours of free time to explore Florence independently. It appears this detail may have been missed before booking, and we understand how that could affect the experience. The station is conveniently located close to the city center, and our guide provides clear instructions before leaving the group to help ensure a smooth return. Still, even though train delays are beyond our control, we understand that busy stations and unexpected disruptions—like the one you experienced—can be stressful. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience, and we hope the beauty of Florence still made the day worthwhile.
What they don’t tell you is you’ll go to Florence, guide for 1/2 day then left on your own with a map in your own having to get back to Rome on your end. I’ve asked for a partial refund and am awaiting a response. Wasn’t worth it.
Dear Michel, Thank you for leaving a review for this tour. However, I feel obliged to point out some inaccuracies in your account. You caution "Read my review before you sign up," when in fairness, it would suffice to read the tour description. In doing so, there are at LEAST FOUR references to the fact that this tour is partly guided, part self-guided. For example, in the very first line: -A morning guided tour and free time in the afternoon to explore Florence at your own pace make this day trip to Florence from Rome by high-speed rail an ideal solution for independent travellers. Scroll down slightly an you would read: -Enjoy 5.5 hours of free time - have a leisurely lunch and then wander around magnificent Florence on your own before making your way to the station for your return journey to Rome. -Guided tour and free time makes for a perfect hybrid experience -After free time in Florence, participants return to the Florence train station independently (a short walk) We do regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. Carefully reading tour descriptions in fill might help to avoid an unsatisfactory experience like this in the future. We're very much committed to publishing tour descriptions that accurately describe each tour journey - and we'll surely take your feedback into account. We hope your trip to Rome overall was a pleasant one!
The guides were always late so it created stress as you weren’t sure if you were in the correct meeting place - the visit in Florence was informative
Our tour of Florence was very enjoyable. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about Florence history and culture. That shined through. The tour was 2 hours, so we had 5 hours to explore the Florence central area. Lots of shopping and museums. Don't miss Michaelangelo's David.
Sara gave a great tour and even helped my wife and I out with some great food recommendations, tour spots, and things to do since we were staying behind in Florence while they continued onto the Tuscan region for a wine tasting.
Excelent guide with good knowledge and made the walktrough very pleasant. Provide good suggestions on visiting other places in Florence.
