"Conde Tour" and Joaquim to avoid

Avoid, I refused the vehicle because it was in very bad condition. Also avoid the provider "Conde Tour" (Joaquim) who charges you for services he does not perform; schedule and appointments not respected.

Viator rip off- tour sold to other vendors??!!

The guide was a very nice person. Not sure the tour is aligned with what Viator promised and we thought we paid for… I’ve left a review for Viator. Never using the company again!

Soaking wet and cold in cozumel

Hard time finding the location. It was not at the intersection as per the instructions. It was back about 3 blocks. They said to be there early but they didn’t open until 10am. The lady said we had a balance of 100$. I told her we had paid. She tried to get it figured out. She never did. I paid just to satisfy her and so we could get on with our day. Later someone called and said I understand you didn’t want to pay. That wasn’t true. I had already paid for the trip. I was then told it was for the preservation of the area. A tax of sorts to help keep the area clean. 25$ a person. Why was I charged 120 something dollars? The guide drove. We were the only ones. You have to climb into the car so you best be flexible. It rained or should I say it poured down on us and there were no windows. We were soaked. The stops were mostly trying to sell you something and wanted tips for everything! We don’t drink so we tasted the honey and chocolate and still felt pressured to tip when it was a part of the excursion. A guy took our photo and framed it. We bought the photo and frame for 35$. A little too much pressure to buy and tip for everything at the one stop. The coconut and non alcoholic coconut drink was awesome at the one place. The lunch was really good. Fish tacos great. Gizmo super nice. The snorkeling was not guided. You were given an area to snorkel in and provided supplies. We made it back safely. Liquid sunshine put a damper on the day. The pressure to tip and buy a little too much. Food excellent at the restaurant and Ana super nice. The girl swinging the machete to cut coconut was amazing. So glad she kept her fingers that day. Overall a pretty good trip. Gizmo did the best he could given the pouring rain. Maybe someone can explain why 25$ a person ended up $121.64 for fees.

Operator response

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you mentioned, especially regarding the difficulty in finding the location, the opening time, and the confusion about the additional charges. We understand how frustrating this situation can be and apologize for any lack of clarity during the process. Regarding the fees, the preservation tax is a charge related to the use and care of natural areas; however, we will review your case internally to better understand the difference in the amount charged and provide you with a clearer explanation. We also appreciate your feedback about the perceived pressure during some stops and tipping, as it helps us reinforce with our team and partners the importance of maintaining a comfortable and transparent experience for our travelers. On the positive side, we’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the lunch, some of the stops, and the support from your guide, who did his best despite the heavy rain conditions. We remain at your disposal to follow up on your case and provide further clarification. Kind regards.

Great tour!

We met with our tour guide at the stated meeting place. Our guide was a little late but was very kind and flexible. Our tour, for which we stated our desires, included a tequila and chocolate tasting tour, visiting the San Gervasio ruins, and snorkeling at a private club (extra ~$20 entrance fee). We did not get to the beach due to time constraints and the side trek to San Gervasio, but snorkeling was fun. The snorkeling location also had food and an extensive menu (not included in price). We did not really ride in a buggy, it was more like a normal car but the experience was still great. The whole tour was about 4-5 hours so it took up most of our day after getting off the cruise. By the end of the tour, we felt like we saw a good portion of the island and were satisfied enough to return to the cruise ship.

For this pick up, you...

For this pick up, you walk all the way through the port and cross the road to Marty’s sports store. Everyone was helpful in guiding us. Recommend Amarti I think was his name. We kept us on time and allowed us to add in a stop at a Mayan temple because we had time. He was excellent and was comforting to my mom when she didn’t want to snorkel. If you do need a boogie with a door, you will need to specify when booking. Throughly enjoyed every stop even though it was scotching hot.
