The Minh Mang is one of the most interesting emperor tombs in Hue. Emperor Minh Mang (1820 - 1841) He had been planning to build a tomb for himself as early as 1826. The Minh Mang Tomb is renowned for its architecture, which fits harmoniously into the surrounding landscape. Like in other tombs of this period, the general elements of the tomb architecture are: outer-walls, triple gate (Tam Quan Gate), Salutation Court, Stele House, temples, lakes, pavilions, gardens and the tomb itself.
Tu Duc Tomb is one of the most beautifully designed complexes among the tombs of the Nguyen dynasty. Embedded in a lush pine forest, this tomb is the final resting place of Emperor: Tu Duc (1848-83) who had the longest reign of all emperors of the Nguyen dynasty.
Khai Dinh Tomb who ruled 1916-1925, the construction of the tomb was started on 1920 and lasted for 11 years. The architecture of this tomb is the most criticized of all the tombs of the Nguyen dynasty. The walls are densely decorated – almost comparable to Rokkoko style – with inlaid of elaborate glass and porcelain designs. The floor is covered with tile with decent flower design, the ceiling painted with nine dragons in fine fleeting clouds.

HOA was a fantastic guide. He was so knowledgeable about the history and stories of the Royal Family besides being so helpful in so many ways. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide!! If we return to Hue we would definitely do another tour with HOA!!!
Tour-no guided tour Our driver, Mr Trung, was very nice. His English was fluent but often difficult to understand. We received no information from him about the royal tombs as such. But he modified the tour because my wife could not climb the steps to the King's Tomb XII.

The Service works perfectly, they communicate with you at all times and give oago facilities. We did two private car tours, the first day visiting three tombs+citadel+pagoda, and the second a transfer from Hue to Hoi An visiting along the way Lagoon, Marble Mountains and Lady Buddha, and passing through Hai Van Pass. I can only say that our driver Sam is THE BEST. He is very polite, super professional, a very trained person, great driver, and speaks English in an enviable way. He gave us tips for visits and was patient and super friendly. At the end of the first day we told him to wish he was our second day driver too and it was a pleasant surprise to learn that he was. Of the best drivers we've had on all our trips. In addition the car is very clean, with bottles of water and perfect air conditioning. Trung was very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend it for your visit in Hue. He he brought us to a charming coffee shop in the morning before we got on the road, try coconut coffee delicious ! The car was clean and comfortable.
We arrived late at night in Hué and had a clear schedule for the next day. It was raining so we booked a private driver for a tour of the Royal Tombs and Pagode. And what a driver! Hòa (our driver) was amazing! Smooth driving, friendly and kind and has a great knowledge of the city and its history. Hòa not only guided us through the different kings of the dynasty and their contexts but also gave us hints on places to go and shared local stories and anecdotes of the places we were driving through. We had a really fun time with him and learned a lot. A great memory for our honeymoon. Can't recommend highly enough Hòa and the company that made this last minute tour possible.
Great way to see the tombs. Super informative driver too. Really great to get the tour done early when there are few tourists around.
