The Butchart Gardens is a 121-year-old world famous 55-acre display garden located in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia. Created by Jennie Butchart, and still privately owned and operated by the family, The Gardens was designated a National Historic Site of Canada, in 2004 for its one hundredth birthday.
Your tour begins and finishes in the Inner Harbour, one of the most beautiful harbours in the world. The harbour has had a long history, starting with its use by First Nations. Many vessels moor in the centre of this famous heritage city, just steps from its historic streets and distinctive architecture. During the summer months, the harbour is the focus of festivals, shows and music. The harbour also serves whale watching and ecotourism businesses, float planes, an International Ferry terminal with connections to Port Angeles, Bellingham and Seattle, and a water taxi service.
Pass through the second oldest Chinatown in North America. This historic area is framed by the colourful Gates of Harmonious Interest and the streets are with lined with local shops and delicious snacks.

Our tour was a lovely experience and our tour guide Jacob was exceptional ….. Went above and beyond to make our experience a beautiful memory and he had a great sense of humour. Would absolutely recommend
Everything about this tour was great from beginning to end. Starting point is very centrally located and easy to get to by bus. Walking distance to many other points of interest. The delivery of the tickets via email was very timely. Our driver was very knowledgeable of Victoria and made the ride to Butchart Gardens enjoyable. The gardens themselves were beyond expectations! One of our best excursions on our cruise! I would highly recommend Viator Tours for your touring experience!
It’s the most beautiful garden I’ve ever seen! As someone who is obsessed with plants and flowers, I was in heaven.
The place was unbelievably beautiful. Bring a water bottle. Actual time at the garden could have been longer. The garden was crowded in places making it hard to enjoy it as much as we would have liked.
Nice city tour and then onto Gardens. Plenty of time to spend at the beautiful gardens on our own.
Butchart Gardens is beautiful. Allow about 1.5 hours to see it. Ice cream looks delicious but is expensive.
Very good tour guide! His name was Michael. He had a lot of information about the community before we went out to BUCHART GARDENS. The only negative was two ladies did not show up timely for the tour and it held us up about 12 minutes late getting started.
Very informative and just about the right duration. The gardens were wonderful and not crowded at all. Plenty of recommendations for dinner and a good all around knowledge of history of Victoria. The guide was excellent I can’t remember her name.
Michael was great!!! Very knowledgeable and was extremely accommodating!!! We would highly recommend this tour!!!
The gardens are beautiful. Unfortunately we left 25 minutes later than the posted time because the driver waited for a family of 4 who were tardy. There should be a time limit on how long a tour should wait for late arrivals.
