Somehow nostalgic, fairly and beautiful Art that touches our five senses. It is also a moment when you feel that being alive in nature. When I do Matcha Calligraphy, I remember Master Calligrapher of her grand farther, who influenced me. And, I remember the tea garden around my grandfather's calligraphy room. I feel I'm in security and with love. It seems to be entering the "silence/zen" time. It is sometimes as an opportunity to look at yourself. I hope that Matcha Calligraphy will be one thing to know "Matcha", "Green tea" and "Japan." and many people experience and feel the beauty of "Matcha Calligraphy ®"

I joined Shoran's calligraphy session with my two kids at Maruzen Tea Roastery, only a few minutes from Shizuoka Station. The setting was calm and inspiring, surrounded by the aroma of tea. Shoran is a wonderful teacher. She patiently guided us through the brush strokes and shared insights that made shodō feel approachable yet meaningful. She also talked about her favorite spots in Shizuoka, making the whole experience feel personal and connected to the local culture. The pace was perfect for both adults and children. We ended with a cup of green tea for me and matcha shaved ice for the kids, which felt like the sweetest way to close our time together. This was more than a class. It was a chance to slow down, connect, and experience a piece of Japanese tradition in a memorable way. Thank you Shoran!
The Matcha Calligraphy with Shoran was wonderful. There were four of us (two couples) and we all had a very relaxing and enjoyable time learning calligraphy. She is a very patient teacher and gave us alternate ways to work through the issues we were having with painting.
