Join your guide for a visit to Corvin Castle in Hunedoara before exploring all that Alba Iulia has to offer such as the Vauban-style fortress, the Orthodox Church, and Catholic Cathedral. Admire the scenery as you travel in comfort to each sight by private transportation - a minivan based on group size. Your guide will join you for the duration of the tour, ensuring to provide insight at each location.

This iconic Transylvanian castle is an incredible example of Gothic architecture in this region of Europe. With the knowledgeable guide, you will discover every corner of the castle and learn the history and legends of the Castle, developed over 500 years. Throughout the castle, prepare to walk up around 100-200 stairs and a total of 1-2 miles throughout your tour. If desired, enjoy 15 minutes of free time for souvenir shopping or buying snacks at the shops near the castle.
Next, we'll be on your way to Alba Iulia to begin the next stage of the journey. We will visit the Citadel of Alba Iulia, a Vauban fortress where we'll discover 2 millennia of Romania's history walking on the alleys and squares inside. In the citadel, we will visit the Orthodox Church and Catholic Cathedral as well as the Roman ruins. We will admire the imposing bastions and ravelins of the fort as well as the beautifully carved Baroque-era gates. Our guests will have another 15 minutes of free time to grab a coffee or browse the souvenirs in the main square of the citadel. During your time in Alba Iulia, the guests can also choose to stop for lunch (at own expense) and choose from an array of restaurants that are serving both Romanian and international food.
On the way back to Sibiu, we will detour through the traditional villages located at the foothills of the mountains near Sibiu. The first village will be Sibiel, a charming rural settlement that kept its traditional architecture and pastoral character unspoiled.
We will continue our ride in the Transylvanian countryside passing through Orlat, Poplaca and Rasinari. Before reaching the village, we will stop on the hill where a beautiful panorama of the village and the Carpathian mountains opens up. We will be able to see the lofty ridges of the Fagarasi mountains or the forested peaks of the Sibiu mountains

- The tour is operated by a multi-lingual guide (English, Romanian, and French)
- Due to the numerous stairs throughout the visit, this experience is not recommended for travelers with knee or mobility issues.

Absolutely enjoyed our time touring Romania with Florin. We spent 4 days with him. The itinerary was a great mix of historical sights, local restaurants, castles, beautiful scenery, incredible villages, cities & citadels. We traveled comfortably in his large, clean van. He took care when driving, as I suffer from motion sickness. I appreciated his thoughtfulness. I also appreciated him recommending restaurants that were somewhat familiar/friendly to our United States palates. Admittedly I am a picky eater but we did try some local dishes as well. He had an itinerary but also listened to us. We didn't have to stick to a tight schedule, he gave us suggestions based on traffic, crowds etc... but ultimately let us decide based on our interest level and overall feeling at the time. As a local, Florin is a wealth of knowledge about Romanian history and culture. I encourage you to take the time while driving, to ask as many questions as you can. You'll learn so much about everyday life in Romania (past and present). Florin is a great guy, punctual, trustworthy, friendly and professional at all times. We absolutely recommend his services to anyone and everyone. It made our trip to Romania so easy. I didn't have to think about a thing, it was all done for me. I just got to enjoy. WONDERFUL!!

We did this day trip with Florin and had a good experience. Corvin Castle was interesting and Florin was very well versed in the history of the castle and area. Same with Alba Lulia. Well worth it to be able to sit back, be driven and see all the scenery.

An incredibly varied and eventful day trip to particularly imposing buildings in the Sibiu area. Corvin Castle is very fascinating and Alba Iulia impresses with its incredible size and variety of a historic square. And our guide Florin not only took us to all the special places, but also thrilled us with his descriptions of history and life in his home country today. And all in complete serenity - without ever looking at the clock!
Amazing experience. The travel guide just made it better with all his knowledge of history and also what made it the beat was being able to by home made cheese and sausage from a small village
It was a great trip. Florin was very informative, giving us the impression that there was no question he couldn’t answer. He was very attentive to us, especially since I have slight difficulty with climbing stairs, and he made every effort to accommodate all our needs.
