Ferrari, based in Maranello, is an iconic Italian luxury sports car manufacturer. Founded in 1939 by Enzo Ferrari (1898–1988), the company built its first car in 1940, adopted its current name in 1945 and began producing its current line of road cars in 1947. Born from the spirit of competition, Ferrari embodies an unwavering passion and the beauty of human achievement without limits, creating timeless icons that continue to evolve in a constantly changing world. Enzo Ferrari, formerly a salesman and racing driver for Alfa Romeo, founded Scuderia Ferrari, a racing team, in 1929. Originally intended to service gentleman drivers and other amateur racers, Alfa Romeo's withdrawal from racing in 1933, combined with Enzo's connections within the company, turned Scuderia Ferrari into its unofficial representative on the track. Alfa Romeo supplied racing cars to Ferrari, who eventually amassed some of the best drivers of the 1930s and won many races before the team's liquidation in 1937.

The estate, established in 2002 in the rolling hills of Levizzano Rangone, is the result of owner's passion, dedication, and family values. Experience the artistry behind Lambrusco wine and traditional Balsamic vinegar production. Soon the company began developing, and from the first five hectares of land planted with vines it grew to cover the entire hill, forty-five hectares sorrounded by the green of the fields, in one of the most evocative glimpses of the Modena area. And right here, in the heart of the estate, the old stable was transformed into a resort and vinegar factory, after a patient and innovative recovery work. Grandfather Renzo and grandma Irma have transmitted to their children and grandchildren the values and the spirit of the traditions of the territory and of their products. When Opera02 was started, the first vines of  Lambrusco Grasparossa were also planted in the estate. This is one of the oldest native vines in the world.

Horacio Pagani was born in Piecita, Argentina, on October 11, 1955. As a child, Horacio spent time at the workshop of Tito Ispani, a local modeler working on naval and aeronautical projects. He quickly carved out a personal creative space, reading car magazines and sketching ideas inspired by his idols—particularly Juan Manuel Fangio, a national hero in Argentina. A book called The Selection of The Reader’s Digest introduced Horacio to Leonardo da Vinci, whose fusion of art and science would go on to deeply influence Pagani's philosophy and life’s work. Before finishing high school, Horacio built his first four-wheeled vehicle by hand. A company in Mar del Plata offered a fiberglass-reinforced plastic body kit to be adapted to another car frame, known locally as a Dune Buggy. Horacio enthusiastically embraced the challenge. In 1979, he built the first Pagani F2. In 1983, Horacio began working for Lamborghini. By 1991, he left Lamborghini to found his own company.

Fabulous day trip from Florence

Spent an awesome day with our Enotropea tour guide visiting Ferrari and Lamborghini; Ferrari was a museum tour and Lamborghini was the factory. Both were excellent however the tour behind the scenes at Lamborghini was outstanding! Lunch was out in the country and was accompanied by delicious wines. We also toured the Balsamic Vinegar room and learned about the time honored process of creating this Modena classic. A definite plus was our guide picked us up at our hotel in Florence. Our guides were fantastic was fabulous, personable and knowledgeable of the areas. Highly recommend Enotropea Tours. I hope to experience more of their tours in the future.

The highlight of our trip!

I can't begin to say enough amazing things about Angel and this experience!! If I were to plan a trip, knowing what I know now, I'd beg Angel to clear his entire schedule for us! This was truly the highlight of our trip!! My husband and I had the most amazing time in Emilia-Romagna and we've already sung Angel's praises (and sent pictures of his card to our friends and family planning trips to Italy) to pretty much everyone we've seen since our tour! Although we booked a small group half day tour, it turned out to be just us (my husband and me) for the day. Instead of cancelling due to a failure to meet the group minimum (we experienced this with a different tour on our trip), Angel provided us with a truly unforgettable private gastronomic adventure!! He explained every little detail and process at each facility we visited and worked his magic to let us try and taste things other guides could not provide. He's a sommelier, pentalingual, and has the best wine, cheese, and basalmic vinegar pairings you can imagine! He even arranged a pairing of the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and basalmic vinegar we tried during our visit to each facility at our lunch to let us fully experience the phenomenal, fresh, and delicious products we learned about that morning! During our drives, he gave us an incredible history lesson on the Medici family, Florence, and Emilia-Romagna, and let us take a 10m "rest" after the delicious meal and early morning! He provided us with sensational "must see" and "must do" tips for the upcoming stops of our trip and had several fantastic stories and experiences to share! The conversation flowed beautifully and you can tell Angel takes immense pride in his family and his work! He even dropped us off next to our hotel in Florence! I could not imagine a better day or tour guide! You will regret not booking this tour (or any tour provided by Enotropea Wine Tours) with Angel!

The Best Day Ever!

My daughter and I went to Emilia Romagna with Angel as our guide extraordinaire. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and about what he is talking about and explaining. The two places he took us to were impressive and top quality. We loved everything from the drive to the parmigiano reggiano farm where we saw the process from start to finish. We were very lucky to taste the first Olive oil extracted at the balsamic vinegar family business, which also produces olive oil, offers a bed and breakfast and a delicious lunch featuring pairing balsamic vinegar and including the first pressing of olive oil. What an experience! What a day!!

Excellent experience

This trip is a foodies dream. Cheese, Vinegar, and wine. The cheese factory is amazing and allows you to ship to the US. The vinegar tour was educational and the tasting was fantastic. I was able to send a large shipment back home which was amazing. Lunch was superb too. Then off to a Lambrusco tasting at a small winery. The tasting was impressive. Another business that ships to the US. Best of all is the tour guide Angel. He makes every part of the trip so special. DO NOT miss any of his trips.
