Great tour. Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable We saw a Tapir on the trail so that’s a huge plus
Great easy "hike" to enjoy wildlife. The walk through the well maintained trails was easy to stroll through and not rigorous at all. There was also a bench about halfway on a tree that was very nice to use, especially for my middle aged mother with mobility issues. I brought a portable stool for her just in case but didn't need it. The animals were hard to see/find but our guide, Allen, did his best and spotted a red eyed tree frog, an eye lash viper, Baird's taper, and a partial view of some sloths. Great experience.
Wonderful excursion into the rainforest. Eduardo was a great guide. I saw a lot of animals. The highlight was the red-eyed tree frog, the sloths, and the toucans. I learned a lot about flora and fauna. I would definitely recommend the tour!
Our family of 4 went on this amazing tour with Carlos. He was fantastic. He was very educated and wanted to make sure we got out of the tour what we wanted to see and do. The cost of the tours was extremely reasonable. We were lucky enough to see 3 sloths, a red eyed frog, a toucan and many other things we wouldn't have been able to find. We were the only ones touring with Carlos. We were able to walk the property and view all of these things in an hour and a half. I would definitely recommend this tour company.
Eduardo provided an upbeat and happy adventure through the grounds. He knew where all the sloths were sleeping and we even were lucky enough to see a tapir! Only in Bijagua!!
Wow this was a great experience for our family. It was about a 2 hour tour/hike. Hike was fairly easy. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area, trees, plants and of course the animals/birds etc. We ended up see 3 sloths intotal, many different birds, a few different frogs as well. We really enjoyed it and will be back again with friends and family when they come to visit us here in Costa Rica. Pura Vida
Our guide Jessie was so awesome. We had an amazing hour walking the property and learning about the local plants and animals. We saw so many critters…including several sloths, many toucans, a green tree frog and a poison dart frog.
I understand that the family running this is just trying to make a living and working hard. But our guide was terrible. A young woman who was not engaging at all. Had very little knowledge, or seemed to, on what we were looking at it. “How many species of hummingbirds do you have here?” “I don’t know.” Tore a leaf off a tree and says “smell This” and that’s it. okay… maybe tell us what kind of tree it is… Any info would be helpful. She found a tree frog and literally moved it so it would open its eyes for a photo op. I felt so bad for the little thing. Like isn’t rule #1 don’t disturb the wildlife?? She was on her phone sending texts or voice messages while we were hiking. Our daughter saw and pointed out more things than the guide did. Sloths were way up in the trees. Needed a scope to see them which they did have. Anyway, There are MANY tour options in the area. It’s hard as the guide makes or breaks the experience. So many good reviews for this one but quite disappointing.
Our guide was very friendly; however, he was constantly disturbing wildlife. Our guide shook a tree to make a sloth lift its head. He was constantly whistling to mimic an eagle so that the sloths would move. He handled a frog. These behaviors are both unethical and illegal. I would chose a different company next time.
What a great time we had! We saw 2 sloths,a toucan & eye lash viper snake with lots of different birds! Our guide was excellent and it was a great day….Pura Vida
