Description

Experience the charm of Paris by night from the Seine, following the same iconic waterway that hosted the unforgettable Paris 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony. Departing from the historic Pont Neuf, this evening cruise offers a peaceful way to see the city’s most famous landmarks, with soft music and a glass of Champagne included. Your journey begins at Square du Vert-Galant, a quiet riverside spot located just beneath Pont Neuf. Step aboard and make yourself comfortable, choosing between the indoor area or the open-air terrace. As the boat glides along the UNESCO-listed banks of the Seine. Along the route, admire the capital’s most emblematic sights, including the Louvre, the Pont des Arts, the Musée d’Orsay, the Tuileries Garden and Place de la Concorde. Cruise under the Alexandre III Bridge and enjoy views of the Grand Palais and Les Invalides before approaching one of the evening’s most memorable moments: the Eiffel Tower shining over the river.

Itinerary

Pass by

Start your evening at Vert-Galant Square, the tiny park at the tip of the Île de la Cité, just under Pont Neuf. From the statue of Henri IV in the middle of the bridge, walk down the stairs to the riverbank where your boat is waiting.

Pass by

As you leave Pont Neuf, you circle Île de la Cité, where Paris was born. From the water you can see the medieval towers of the Conciergerie, the Courthouse and the elegant riverfront façades – like sailing around an open-air history book.

Pass by

Gliding along the south bank of the island, you’ll enjoy a clear, unobstructed view of Notre-Dame Cathedral. Even under restoration, its flying buttresses and towers are one of the most powerful symbols of Paris, and the river is the perfect place for photos away from the crowds.

Pass by

The cruise continues past Île Saint-Louis, lined with 17th-century mansions and calm quays. This is one of the most romantic corners of Paris: warm apartment windows, tiny balconies and reflections of the façades in the Seine.

Pass by

Sailing back towards the Right Bank, you pass the ornate Hôtel de Ville (City Hall) and the lively riverside promenades. Here you really feel local life along the Seine, with people strolling, chatting and enjoying the evening by the water.

Pass by

Further west, the immense façade of the Louvre stretches along the river, facing the domed French Institute on the Left Bank. Between them, the Pont des Arts footbridge offers one of the best viewpoints in Paris – from the boat you can see all three in a single glance.

Pass by

On one side of the boat you’ll see the former railway station that is now the Orsay Museum; on the other, the gardens of the Tuileries and the obelisk of Place de la Concorde in the distance. This stretch feels like cruising through a postcard, especially at sunset when the sky turns pink behind the monuments.

Pass by

You then pass under Pont Alexandre III, one of the most beautiful bridges in Paris with its golden statues and Art Nouveau lamps. Nearby you’ll see the glass roof of the Grand Palais and, on the Left Bank, the golden dome of Les Invalides, where Napoleon is buried.

Pass by

As the boat heads further west, the Eiffel Tower comes into full view, rising above the Trocadéro and the Champ de Mars. This is the moment everyone waits for, with Champagne glasses raised and cameras ready.

Pass by

The cruise ends back at du Vert-Galant Square , just a short walk from the lively cafés and restaurants of the Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain, perfect to continue your evening.

Wonderful for last night in Paris

It was a nice evening for us to go past many of the sites of Paris that we had visited the past week on our last night in the city while enjoying our champagne and the music. For those who are just arriving in Paris, they may prefer a tour that includes descriptions of what they are seeing to get an orientation to the city.

Not a tour I would do again....

The tour ran short (under an hour) and there was no sightseeing to it...just a boat running up and down the river.

Operator response

Dear Elizabeth, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to learn that the cruise did not meet your expectations. We understand your disappointment if the experience was different from what you had anticipated. Our sightseeing cruises are designed to allow guests to admire Paris’s most famous monuments from the Seine, offering unique views of landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, the Louvre, and many other historic sites along the river. The duration of the cruise is communicated in advance and may vary slightly depending on navigation conditions and river traffic on the day of operation. While the vast majority of our guests enjoy this perspective of Paris and the opportunity to discover its heritage from the water, we regret that the experience did not provide the level of sightseeing you were hoping for. We appreciate your comments, as they help us better understand our guests’ expectations. Should you wish to discuss your experience further, please feel free to contact us at info@francetourisme.fr. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future, perhaps on one of our guided city tours of Paris or an excursion to Versailles, where more detailed commentary and exploration of the sites are part of the experience. Kind regards, Alice de France Tourisme

An unforgettable experience in Paris

The musical atmosphere creates an elegant and relaxing atmosphere throughout the tour. The champagne glass is the perfect touch to start the evening in style. The view of Paris from the Seine is simply spectacular: illuminated monuments, bridges and the city as a whole offer a magical panorama. Without a doubt, this cruise is an essential experience that must be lived at least once in Paris.
