Your friendly guide will pick you up directly from your hotel and transport you to the Elephant Sanctuary. As you look forward to seeing these majestic creatures, there is a tangible sense of anticipation in the air. You are welcomed by the sound of trumpeting elephants as you enter the sanctuary. Your tour guide takes you to an expansive area where numerous elephants are free to roam. You watch in astonishment as they interact with one another, pushing and swinging their trunks. You meet the elephant herd at the sanctuary and get to know each one's distinct character and background. You are touched by the staff's devotion to, love for, and efforts on behalf of these gentle giants. You go on a guided tour of the sanctuary, where you discover more about the origins of elephants in Africa and the difficulties they encounter in the wild. Your tour guide shares their love for these creatures, and you leave feeling motivated to do your part to contribute to their preservation.

Itinerary
Visit the Elephant Sanctuary situated on the Northen slopes of the picturesque Magaliesburg mountains. The tour through the Elephant sanctuary takes about 2 hours. Here you will learn more from these big gentle giants. The African Elephant, much bigger than the Indian Elephant are fascinating and there is no better way to learn more from these animals than being at a world class establishment such as the sanctuary. On your tour you will view and learn more from these majestic animals and have the opportunity to take as many pictures of the elephants. Pick up will be from your hotel or guest house in Johannesburg, Sandton or Pretoria.

Jason was a solid guide, picked us up directly at the hotel, and was extremely knowledgeable of all the things we saw alongside the road. Once we arrived to the elephant sanctuary, we learned about the elephants, brushed them,and walked with them!

Jason was warm, welcoming and was ready to answer any questions that we had. It was a spacious and smooth ride to and from the sanctuary to our hotel. The Elephant Sanctuary is a once lifetime experience. It was amazing to get so close to them. None of us wanted the experience to end. Highly recommend!

Perfect organization and timing, personal pick-up and care by Jason. Felt completely safe as solo traveler. Very knowledgeable about animals and geography. Great guide in Jason. He told us about Johannesburg and South Africa while we drove. Great fun at the elephant sanctuary. Well worth the 1.5 hour trip out of Johannesburg.

This was an intimate elephant experience with guides and handlers. We enjoyed it very much. It’s about 1 1/2 hours out of Johannesburg(we stayed at the airport area) and well worth the time.
