Edinburgh Castle: Guided Walking Tour with Entry Ticket

Description
Scotland’s second-most-popular tourist attraction as you learn about the bloody history including stories of the kings and queens who lived in this castle. There is evidence of a fort here for almost 3000 years, and it has been a royal castle since at least King David I’s reign in the 12th century. The Scottish monarchs continued to use it until 1633, and even saw the birth of King James VI within its walls. Your tour will begin on the Royal Mile, then take you to the castle, where you will hear your guide talking about the origins of the castle and its sieges. Once inside the castle walls, the guide will take you through the different parts of the fortress and tell you its fascinating history. Inside the complex, you will find three museums, two prisons, a canine cemetery, the Chapel of Saint Margaret, the National Monument to the fallen of Scotland, the Great Hall, and a Royal Palace.(ENTIRE TOUR WILL REMAIN OUTDOORS; buildings are not accessible during the tour.)

Excellent tour and really informative from our guide Glenn. He provided great local knowledge and we left having learnt alot about the history of the castle. Excellent value for money and we were able to explore the castle at our own pace afterwards. Definitely recommend being there for the 1 o'clock gun being fired.
Our tour guide, Ingus, was fantastic. Well-informed, entertaining educational and engaging. Would tour with him again and recommend to others.
Joe was an absolute legend! I laughed, I cried, I learned oh so much. These are memories I will never forget.
We were grateful to have the castle tickets reserved for us, and for an introduction to the castle. We ended up staying about 30 minutes after the tour to continue exploring.
Glen was fantastic and he was very nice
The Edinburgh castle is a bit intricate to navigate. Our guide, Australian David, excelled at carrying us through the crowds during the fringe festival and sharing tales of the castle. The meeting point should be included in the text with the ticket rather than having to be retrieved from the email, especially when internet is unpredictable.
We enjoyed the castle and the royal mile Gavin was a great tour guide We would do it again sheri Beardsley
Australian David was an excellent guide. Knowledgeable, professional, polite, and funny.
Glenn was very personable and knowledgeable. I would recommend a tour with him.
Glen was great, very knowledgeable, personable and very Scottish! Would choose him again if I can't go with Jen 😉
