Eating Amsterdam: Food Walking Tour with Private Canal Cruise

Description
Two of Amsterdam's best experiences combined! Start with a small-group walking food tour through the Jordaan neighborhood. You'll hidden spots like a cheese maker with decades behind the counter, a bakery producing something the Dutch have been arguing about for centuries, a jenever bar that's been pouring since before your grandparents were born. Then comes the exclusive canal cruise. Not a shared tourist boat. A private luxury saloon boat, just your group, max 11 guests, tracing the Prinsengracht, the Amstel, and the Herengracht for a full hour. You'll have a Bitterballen tasting on board, along a jenever drink, plus beer, wine, or soda. A food tour and a private canal cruise, each worth booking on its own. Here, they come together!

Itinerary
Start your journey in the Jordaan, a historic district shaped by workers, artists, and migrants. As you wander its canals and lanes, discover how its past forged the vibrant, close-knit neighborhood you see today.
Step aboard a stunning luxury boat for a one-hour private cruise through the canals of Amsterdam, and learn all about its fascinating history! Enjoy a Bitterballen tasting on boar, along with Jenever and a second drink of your choice.
Start the walking tour portion of your tour with Amsterdam's most legendary apple pie at this 400-year-old brown café, with your choice of coffee, cappuccino, or tea. This family recipe has been attracted locals and visitors for generations, including Bill Clinton!
Experience a traditional Dutch fishmonger and sample herring and kibbeling. See the fresh fish expertly prepared in the open kitchen, and enjoy a true taste of local culinary culture.
Savor four organic Goudas in a cozy, historic Café. Enjoy the depth of flavors from young to aged cheeses in a classic brown café beloved by locals for its authentic atmosphere.
Walk along one of Amsterdam's most beautiful canals, admiring the stunning 17th-century architecture while your guide shares stories of the city's Golden Age and its influence on Dutch cuisine.
De Gangen Willemstraat, known as "the hallways" or "the slums," were once home to the city’s poorest residents. Cramped and overcrowded, these narrow alleys behind the houses were plagued by disease and hunger.
The chef serves her homemade Briwat from Moroccan, a flavorful highlight among authentic home-cooked meals from around the world. Discover this unique catering shop where women share their culinary heritage. As an alternative tasting, you could try a Roti Roll with chicken.
Enjoy a classic Dutch delight with freshly made poffertjes. Light, fluffy mini pancakes served warm with butter and powdered sugar offer a sweet and authentic taste of the Netherlands!
View the exterior of this poignant historical site as your guide provides context about Amsterdam during WWII and its impact on the city's culture and cuisine.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and Paul, our tour guide, was super friendly and had so much knowledge about the city. All of the food was fantastic, our favourite was the Dutch mini pancakes but the apple pie also pleasantly surprised us. We would highly recommend this tour!

We just finished a wonderful food tour with Paul...what an amazing guide! He is very knowledgable, funny and a wonderful guide. All of the food was amazing and it was great to learn about the food as well as Amsterdam and its history. We also really enjoyed the cruise. All of the food and drinks were great and make sure you come hungry and if you book the afternoon tour don't make dinner plans as you will not be hungry! We have taken many food tours around the world and rate this one among the best.
We had an amazing time on this food tour! The food was delicious, and the boat ride through Amsterdam’s canals made the experience even more special. Andy was a fantastic guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the tour both fun and informative. We left happy, full, and with a much better appreciation of Amsterdam. Highly recommend this experience!
