Meet your guide at Key Tours office, and reach the south slope of the Acropolis, where you will admire the Dionysus Sanctuary and Dionysus Theater.
Walk up the hill leading to the Acropolis significant site and have your camera ready for snapping photos of the historical monuments of Acropolis, including the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Pedestal of Agrippa.
Having explored the Acropolis site and going downhill, you will admire significant sights of the capital of Greece, including the Ancient Agora and the National Observatory of Athens.
Then, you will enter and walk through the unique district of the city, Plaka. For a while, forget the city sounds. Go around Anafiotika, the topmost neighborhood of Plaka and discover with your guide its tranquil, picturesque, and mystic hidden corners. Stroll around the innumerable little alleys and admire the old whitewashed mansions with the carved wooden or imposing iron doors and the colorful painted shutter. Find hidden gems of unspoiled beauty and magnificent views and learn secrets unknown even to many Athenians.
After a while, you will arrive at the Bathhouse of the Winds, the only public bath of Athens surviving at the present days. It dates from the first period of Turkish rule (1453 – 1669) and stands near the Roman forum and the Tower of the Winds.
Passing by the Roman Forum, the Fethiye Mosque Museum and the Hadrian's Library, you will end up at Monastiraki Square, perhaps the oldest surviving square of the city. After the end of the tour, you can visit the flea market, one of the best places to buy just about anything or continue strolling and enjoy your lunch or your coffee at one of the little, picturesque shops, creating memories of a lifetime.

First off, my guide was incredibly knowledgeable and communicated everything to us clearly. She was open to questions and she is what made the experience better than my overall rating. Without her, it would be lower. The first problem. I booked months in advance and before our trip I was double checking everything. In the email I received I thought I had booked the walking tour to the Acropolis and museum with entry tickets included. I emailed just to be sure. This was not the case. Other reviews also commented on this confusion. I purchased the museum tickets on line but could not get the 8:00 entry ticket to the Acropolis as it was booked. If I had known months in advance I could have purchased this. I had to pay extra money from the same company I was doing the walking tour with to get an entry ticket and an audio guide which you don’t use because you have a personal tour guide. We got at the meeting point at 7:45, the recommended time but we didn’t leave until well after 8:00am about 8:25-39om because they were waiting for people in our group to arrive and they added a new couple to the group as well. This was frustrating since we were stressed to be on time. We basically sat or stood in an office with tons of people for 45 minutes.

The option without tickets is clearly described at the time of booking and specifically advises guests to purchase their Acropolis tickets in advance for the recommended timeslot so they can enter together with the group. This information is included in the tour description as well as in the pre-tour instructions we send to guests. As Acropolis tickets are issued through the official ticketing system and entry is based on timed slots, availability can become limited, particularly during the high season. Unfortunately, once a specific timeslot is fully booked, neither we nor any other operator can secure additional tickets for that entry window. Petros provided excellent tours of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum. He gave lots of information and helpful background to put it all in context. The pace was perfect. Lydia is by far the best, most authentic, informed, relaxed tour guide. She was calm and comforting and helped our group navigate lots of information and trekking the early morning tour to the Acropolis … so helpful with local food recommendations too. There were two babies on the tour, and before we went to the next spot to talk, she always made sure the babies were accounted for ❤️We highly recommend her!!
