Devour Rome Food & Wine Tour of Trastevere

Description
There’s no better place to dive into authentic Italian dishes and drinks than Rome’s Trastevere neighborhood. From enoteca to osteria, you’ll get a true flavor of what makes Rome’s cuisine so unique and delicious. Start the evening like an Italian getting to know your local guide and small group of travelers (12 people max) over a glass of wine or prosecco paired with cured meats and cheeses from the region. After, pop by a family-run restaurant making the best supplì in town for over 40 years on your way to try Rome's beloved cocktail, the Aperol spritz, at an iconic neighborhood institution. Take a short walk to a cozy wine bar to sample three types of bruschette with a glass of red and white wine. Then, sit down at a typical trattoria for a family-style pasta dinner and more wine. No trip to Rome is complete without gelato! Enjoy a cup or cone before parting ways with your guide. You’ll end the tour with invaluable insight into how to eat like a local for the rest of your visit.

Itinerary
Begin the evening at a local wine bar in the heart of Trastevere! Dive into the world of Italian wines as you soak up the charming atmosphere. Sample prosecco alongside some traditional prosciutto and cheeses.
Open since 1979, locals swear this restaurant makes the best supplì in town.
The next spot is practically a Roman monument in itself! One of Trastevere’s most beloved bars, this spot is always packed with locals which makes it the perfect place to learn about traditional Italian drinks. Sip on a spritz as you hear the fascinating story behind Italy’s iconic aperitif.
ake your spritz to the beautiful piazza next door where you'll see the Basilica of Our Lady. This is said to be the oldest church dedicated to the Virgin Mary in Rome and it was probably the first official place of Christian worship.
This enoteca specializes in natural wines. Sample a glass of red and white wine paired with three deliciously unique types of bruschetta. The owner hand-picks all the products here to ensure optimal quality and flavor.
One of the most iconic restaurants of the Trastevere neighborhood in Rome run by the same family for over three generations! Alongside three types of pasta, you’ll sample two glasses of flavorsome wine.
Savor a cup or cone of artisan gelato for a delicious way to end the evening.

ALEX WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST GUIDE OF ALL TIME!!!! He spent 4 hours with us and gave us the best info, we laughed and shared about our lives, he honestly made our entire trip. Give Alex the biggest raise ever!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely amazing!! Jon Paul was the best!
Anna Maria was fantastic. She was informative, funny, and charismatic. She made every place feel like we were eating with family. If I could have her tour with me everywhere, I would.
Annamaria C. was a fantastic guide. She was a font of information (but not overly so), selected interesting places to eat and drink, and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was kind enough to start early and run late. We’d highly recommend her, the tour, and Devour.
Chiara was a wonderful tour guide! The places she took us were very authentic and gave us a nice overview of the different Roman specialties. We loved our tour group. Good food and good company and we would absolutely do it again.
Aurelio, was our guide and we loved this food tour. It was so fun. I would say it’s like going through the. hipster part of Italy in the best way. All of the food stops we had were amazing and there were a good amount of wine, pours and cocktails to try. We especially enjoyed the pasta at the end and this left everybody very full. Our guide was excellent about sharing information about some of the local owners some of the grapes in the region for wine as well as helping us identify places that we would consider to be tourist traps that we might not want to eat at later. was a really great evening walking around and meeting new people I would highly recommend this tour..
aurelio was our tour guide. He was very friendly and explained all the wine to us. Helped us identify tourist traps.
Aurelio did a great job walking us through the neighborhood, explaining the culture and showing us food and wine that we likely wouldn’t have found on our own. Will definitely recommend this to family and friends that are traveling to the area!
Very knowledgeable guide, great food/wine. Small group, highly recommend!
