A Beautiful City at a Comfortable Pace

This excursion gave us a good balance between guided sightseeing and independent exploration. Bruges is a city best enjoyed slowly, and the itinerary allowed for that. We enjoyed walking along the canals, visiting small squares, and taking in the architecture. The guide provided helpful insights into the city’s history, but never in a way that felt overwhelming. The free time was especially valuable, as it allowed us to stop for photos and enjoy the atmosphere without feeling pressured by time. Overall, it was a relaxed and enjoyable day.

Our Brugge tour had some issues

We got off the ship and we couldn’t find our tour operator. We asked several local tour operators and they didn’t know anything about our tour. We specifically spoke to a woman that was holding a sign to our destination, but she told us we weren’t part of her tour and didn’t know who was operating our tour. Tried calling the Tour Operator and it was a long distance number in some other country and got voicemail on some unknown language. Tried getting ahold of Viator and couldn’t get thru to anyone, so it was/an extremely frustrating experience. No customer service whatsoever. After about an hour, the woman we previously spoke to approached us and she finally found out names at the very top of her list. There was also total confusion and chaos with the other passengers trying to find the tour operator. So we left the port over an hour late. The woman was very nice and apologized profusely to everyone. Once we got to Brugge things smoothed out and went well throughout the city tour. At the end of the tour several people were missing so that caused problems again. The sights were great and would highly recommend touring Brugge. The tour was disorganized and disjointed.

Operator response

We regret to hear about your disappointment. To avoid any frustration at the meeting point, instead of asking people unrelated to Viator, we highly recommend simply following the easy pickup instructions available on the website and communicated to your email and phone: 1. Board the free port shuttle right at the pier. 2. Take a short ride to the port gate. 3. Look for the big J. A. T. signs held by our representatives right outside the port gate. Safe travels!

Flawless and timely done everything

We did not waste a single second waiting terminal shuttle lines. We got in Bruges before the huge cruise busses did. The guide took us through all of the sights, including the Belfry and then Church of our lady, even got some authentic Belgian waffles. Having someone else mange the clock when you have a tight all aboard time is well worth the money.

Deluxe Bruges Shore Excursion from Zeebrugge Cruise Port

Our guide Dimitra Maragkaki was absolutely amazing, very prompt starting from the day before the tour, during the whole tour including the bus ride and walking tour. She was very helpful full of information, very knowledgeable and friendly and considerate. She was constantly looking for our safety, make sure the slower walker is always catching up. A wonderful pleasant experience.

Enjoyable Group Experience

Our group found this excursion to be a convenient and enjoyable way to see Bruges during our cruise stop. The transportation was comfortable and made the journey from Zeebrugge very easy. Once in the city, we explored together for part of the time and then split up during the free period to see different areas. The canals and historic buildings were definitely the highlight, and the city had a calm, pleasant atmosphere. The guide kept everything organized but didn’t over-direct the experience, which we appreciated. It felt flexible enough for different interests within our group.

Complete Chaos, very unprofessional

completely UNorganized. Due to the lack of organization we lost at least an hour and a half because they couldn't find the correct lists and assign the hearing devices. Ended up without a device and we couldn't see as much as we wanted because of waiting time while they were figuring out.

Operator response

The waiting time was caused by your ship docking 40 minutes late, while the cruise line did not extend the total duration of your stay in port. This reduced the time available for our tour and unfortunately caused some rush. You may wish to address this concern directly with your cruise line. Please note that waiting for you beyond the scheduled tour start time was a gesture of goodwill on our part. If we continue receiving negative feedback after going the extra mile for delayed guests, we may need to reconsider this practice. In the future, we may depart exactly at the time stated on the tour ticket. Safe travels.

Great place to visit

The tour company was located right outside the cruise terminal. Easy walk. Our tour guide Frank was very knowledgeable about the area. Once inside the market square we were allowed to go off and explore on our own. I would have given this a 5 star but Frank walked way to fast for a few of us senior people. At one point I was yelling for Frank. He never turned around during the tour to see if the group was together. There was an elderly man behind me who was having trouble keeping up. Then a lady from our group came forward and kept Frank on task to allow the elderly man to catch up.

A Quiet and Rewarding Solo Experience

As a solo traveler, I often look for excursions that are well-organized but still allow personal exploration, and this one fit that balance nicely. The transfer from Zeebrugge was simple, and the group size felt manageable. Bruges itself was very easy to explore. I enjoyed wandering along the canals and through the old streets without feeling rushed. The guide provided useful background information, but I also had enough time to experience the city on my own terms. I particularly liked the free time period, which allowed me to sit quietly by the water and take in the atmosphere. It felt like a relaxed and well-paced introduction to the city.
