This was an exceptional tour of lower Manhattan exploring 400 years of death. I am pretty knowledgeable about NYC history and the neighborhood, but I learned so much. Krombie is an exceptional guide. She engaged the group with stories and involved us in discussions - this was no boring tour with lectures! I enjoyed every minute of it, as did my husband and friend. We will definitely do another Purefinder tour, especially now that I learned what a purefinder was. :)
Thank you, Suzanne. Delighted that the full-length Death tour still managed to surprise someone already well versed in Manhattan history. Much appreciated, and glad the meaning of Purefinder revealed itself along the way!
I went on this tour a few years ago and had to go back to try and digest all the unbelievable fun facts. Don't think for a moment, you understand or know NYC history. I've been a NYer all my life and the info that Crombie (guide) shared was fascinating, interesting and constantly a wow. Crombie is lively, entertaining, approachable and informative. Whether you are a tourist or resident, book this tour.

Fantastic tour. Insightful, well planned, and well guided. Was ±3 hours, and well worth the price of admission. Guide did great in making the group of ±6 gel together. Recommend for both locals and tourists alike.
Thank you, Sam, we’re so glad you enjoyed the tour. We appreciate your recommendation, and you’re welcome to join any of our Purefinder New York tours anytime.
Well researched, but more than that Cromby was engaging and entertaining about a grim subject. Such a different lens with which to see lower Manhattan!!
Thank you for your feedback. We’re very glad you enjoyed the tour and its different perspective on Lower Manhattan. You’re always welcome to join us again on another Purefinder New York tour.
This is frankly one of the best tours I've taken in my life! Krombie is not only tremendously knowledgeable, but also has a gift for thrilling storytelling and a delightfully wicked sense of humor. 10/10 would recommend –I cannot wait to take some of her other tours around the city, and to get my hands on her book for more on the subject.
Thank you for your wonderful review of the Death in New York: Extended Daylight Tour. We are delighted that the mix of history and storytelling resonated so strongly. Purefinder New York has several other tours that delve into the city’s hidden stories, including new seasonal offerings such as Dark Christmas, and we would be glad to welcome you again whenever you feel like exploring more.
We wanted to do a walking tour that wasn’t just the usual tourist stuff and this one was even better than we expected! Our guide was personable and well informed, and the tour was full of fascinating facts and tales about death in unexpected places in NYC. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely do more tours next time we’re in town!
Thank you for your kind review. We are very glad the tour matched what you were looking for and that you enjoyed the stories along the way. We appreciate your recommendation and would be happy to see you again on one of our other Purefinder New York tours during your next visit.
Fascinating and morbidly fun tour. Our guide was an incredible storyteller. We had a great afternoon. Highly recommend!
Purefinder New York is top notch! Informative and fun - Krombie is a fantastic guide, knowledgeable and hilarious. Even as a local New Yorker, I learned so much about the city’s history that I didn’t know! Looking forward to taking the other tours as well. Highly recommend!
Loved the tour; all the incredible facts I was told (guess how many dead bodies are buried, layer upon layer, in tiny Trinity church graveyard?) are still percolating in my mind. Our tour guide was witty and knowledgeable; the time flew by.
Not your “average” walking tour. Krombie is a fabulous guide and her storytelling is captivating. Thanks for making my hubby’s 63rd extra special! Highly recommend!
