you’re thinking about a day trip from Dubrovnik, this is an incredible option. The water and mountain vistas are reminiscent of Scandinavian fjords and Italian Lakes. The town visits were very special, and the walled city in Kotor really reflects the deserving UNESCO status. Our guide Joanna at Sombrero Tours was great.
We had one more day in Debrovnik and we decided to book a day trip to Kotor in Montenegro. Cost US$ 123.00 for two. As with our trip to Mostar, they picked up on time at our sister hotel (Valamar President), a short walk from our hotel. Again, in the city we are met and we again had to submit out passports. Make sure you take your passport, as Montenegro is not in the EU. After about 45 minute drive, we arrived at the border. It took a while for the whole process and once we were able to proceed we stopped at a rest stop for a few minutes to get a coffee and/or go to restrooms. We then proceeds and drove along the Bay of Kotor. Very picturesque. But a long and curvy road. We then made a stop at the village of Perast. Some people took to opportunity to take a boat ride and visit the Church of our Lady (extra cost). We decided to stroll along the village and have a coffee. A very nice village. Worth the stop. We then continued our drive to Kotor where we stayed for about 2 hours. The place was very busy. (There were 3 or 4 cruise ship anchored in the harbor). You had the opportunity to climb the famous wall. Similar to the wall in Dubrovnik. But this wall actually goes up very steep up the hill. We decided, we had have seen and walked the wall in Dubrovnik. And the time was very tight. We decided to stroll inside the old old and have a lunch at one of the many restaurants. We had black risotto and a pasta dish which came to Euro 40.00 or US$ 44.00 incl. drinks for the two of us. Then it was time to meet at the bus and it took as while to get out of the city as there is so much traffic and lots of buses. But on the return we took a shorter route and we passed the city of Tivat and took the ferry at Lepetane to get back to oridinal road at Kamenri. As we reached the border again, there were several buses in front of us which resulted in a long wait (about one hour) to cross the border. But this time we did not have to get of the bus. Just waiting in the bus. We made it back to Dubrovnik around 6-6.30pm and they dropped us of again at the hotel. If you have time, it is a worth wile trip. The ride is very picturesque (almost like Lake Como) and the old city of Kotor is historic and a must see.

Wonderful day to Montenegro with Super Tours, our guide Nikolas was fantastic and very kind. Perast was stunning and Kotor was lovely too. The only negative was the crossing back into Croatia which took over 2 hours.

This trip was sold to us as a pleasant day out on a boat. We Initially spent 5 hours on a coach. Around 3 of those at the border queuing. The coach had no toilet facilities and people were nipping behind bushes at the side of the road to relieve themselves. While queuing the tour quite asked us to vote on still trying to get on the boat or to stay on the coach for the rest of the day. Needless to say we all wanted to go on the boat trip. When we got into Montenegro our boat wasn't there and we were not told what was going on. After around 20 mins we walked along the side of a busy road (no pavement) to the boat that was just arriving. The boat itself was really nice and we did manage to visit the church and had just over a hour in Kotor followed by a nice boat ride back to the coach. We then had around another 3 hours on the coach back to the hotel. The tour guide may have been very knowledgeable, but we could barely hear her on the coach. We did let her know, but this did not seem to help. Overall the coach journey and border crossing ruined this day.

Superb day out. Really informative and enthusiastic guide (Eva) and friendly driver (Joseph). Beautiful, breaktaking scenery around the bays that surround The Lady Of The Rock. And Kotor is a jewel of a town.

Gulliver Travel provided a very well organised and interesting day trip to Montenegro. Both the driver and guide were very knowledgeable and organised, especially at the border crossings. The bus also had free bottled water for everyone which was a lovely touch, especially on a hot day. My only grumble was not being able to explore Perast, instead only visiting Our Lady of the Rocks church which was very interesting but quite busy. The company provided an English speaking guide for both the church and in Kotor which was very helpful since there was a limited time in each place. Three hours in Kotor was more than enough time to explore the old town. The guide was more than happy to recommend restaurants and things to do which was very helpful. I was lucky to have relatively quick border crossings but I imagine it gets very busy in the height of summer so be prepared for a slight delay. Unfortunately there aren't enough characters to review this incredible trip, so if you want to know more about it or Montenegro, feel free to visit my blog.
Dear traveller, thank you for leaving such a great review. It means a lot! We hope you will join us again :) Warm regards, Gulliver travel team
