Enjoy an easy-paced 2 hour small-group walking tours along North Terrace in the city of Adelaide. The focus of the tour is on history, heritage and culture and covers not only the architecture and history of the varying buildings but also the people who have been associated with them, and the stories about Adelaide's development from colonial times to today. Most of the sites visited are public institutions, statues and monuments and tour participants, whether they are locals, interstate visitors or from overseas get to experience the essence of what Adelaide is all about.

We visit this historic site which was a former Destitute Asylum and discuss some of the stories surrounding its use
We marvel at this historic building and discuss its role in women gaining the vote in South Australia
We talk about the role of the State Library and enter its buildings to explore one of the top 20 beautiful libraries in the world dating from 1884.
We marvel at this amazing monument and explain its symbolic reliefs as well as enter the memorial to view the honour list of those South Australian soldiers who died during the Great War.
We admire the striking architecture of the some of the University buildings, and wander through the grounds, being one of the oldest universities in Australia
View the house and grounds from the outside gate and discuss the role of governors and admire the oldest continuously used Government House in Australia
Discuss the importance of the arts in South Australia and the importance of benefactors or philanthropists who donated a lot of money to start this institution.

This is an excellent walking tour. Graeme is extremely knowledgeable of Adelaide’s history and how the town came to be. As a local he also gave some recommendations for food and other areas to visit. The walk is at a good pace and all on a level surface. Highly recommended.

If you love history, you will be thrilled with this fascinating two-hour walking tour. To begin with, I appreciated Graeme's warm and friendly manner and his respectful acknowledgement of the indigenous groups who inhabited the area. Graeme imparted detailed information about the early settlement of Adelaide and pointed out many things as we viewed some of the city's historic buildings along North Terrace. I have been to Adelaide several times, but most of the information was new to me and very interesting as I compared and contrasted it with the settlement of Perth. We entered some of the venues and saw sculptures along the way. The State Library's interior was enchanting. At the end of the tour, it was easy for me to return to the places we had seen and spend a bit more time there. Don't miss this!

A thoroughly enjoyable walking tour full of information and facts from guide Graeme.The two hours spent in the North Adelaide heritage precinct was great value for money and I learnt a heap in that time.Appreciative of the fact that I was the only customer on the day so I felt pretty special.

Fantastic tour! Wonderful wealth of knowledge! Highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the history of Adelaide or South Australia in general. Graeme was our guide. Very knowledgeable. We would like a little more historical of the buildings and maybe a little less time on the sculptures. We did not request that but I'm sure he would have done that for us.

We had a great couple of hours with Graeme. This walk is at a very easy pace. If you like knowing some of the histoy where you are visiting , this walking tour is for you. There are some great photo opportunities to be had. Where it stops , there is a cafe near by for a tea ,coffee etc to enjoy. Thanks Graeme for a great morning. Peter & Lorriane Perth
