Taco and Tequila review

Got to see the island, the tequila demonstration was nice but more of a sales presentation to buy tequila The place we stopped for tacos was right by a beach and it was neat to see the waves crashing in. We each got 3 tacos, but there were no sides included. Beverages were $6 with no refills! The tour guide was nice and very personable.

Too good to be true? Yes.

This was the first stop on our cruise and we were so excited to find a reasonably priced excursion with all the things we wanted to enjoy. Unfortunately, this turned out to be too good to be true. The tour guide met up with us as in a timely manner and immediately started regaling us with island history. We took a buggy to our first stop, the Plaza, where he dropped us off and told us to give it a lap, essentially— it was a ghost town as the stores hadn’t opened yet and we didn’t know where to go/what to see. I hear there’s a church there but we never found it. We were excited to eat authentic Mexican food from a Michelin recognized establishment as advertised and what we got was a far cry from that. Three tacos: tortilla and meat. Not a lime in sight or cilantro. Bare. We never got to see the Hacienda Antigua for the chocolate/tequila tasting— instead we went to what seemed like a family’s yard where we were met with a parrot, iguana and pig (not awful as I love animals). What we didn’t like was that we sat through brief presentations about honey and tequila and immediately aggressively pressured to purchase the products we had tried. Positives: the guide did take picture of us, informative guide TLDR: would not recommend, not as it seems. Lackluster. You get what you pay for.
