We spent a great time during a trip from Milan to lake Como where we took a short jeep tour to see Volta lighthouse. You can admire an amazing view from there with lake and mountains around. There are 2 kilometeres away to Switzerland border across the mountains.
Bad experience today . The place is very beautiful and we climbed from funicularo to lighthouse volta, to enjoy the view. At 4.20 pm the employee working at the ticket office refuse to sell ticcket for a group a 8-10 turist, saying it was to late. The closing time was 4,30 pm. She was very rude with the tourists’ The way she talked to us was like she wanted all the tourists gone from there, hate them. There was time enough to the turist to go up and down in the lighthouse, and enjoy the view.
Worth the effort. Take the funicular then look for a open Land rover providing a shuttle service to the lighthouse 10 euro per person round trip. Leaves every 30 mins. At the topbni e selection of bar/resturants. The view from the lighthouse are stunning. 2 euro per adult to go up the 144 steps to rhe top.
This was the perfect tour! Andrea is such a great guide. He takes care of everyone and has a lot of knowlodge of the city - you will love it.
