Description

GUIDE IN SPANISH. In our guided tour you will learn what is the real importance of Belgian comics within the international scene, and which are the schools and authors that have made their fame possible. You’ll learn about the “clear line” that’s talked about so much in French-Belgian comics, and you’ll discover many of the murals that have been dedicated to the ninth art in the heart of Belgium. This tour is designed both for people who do not know anything about comics and those who are more familiar with this art. As if that weren’t enough, besides the murals, you’ll know Tintin’s house (before he moved into Moulinsart Castle) and the statue hidden in plain sight of The Smurfs. You’ll also discover new places in central Brussels that aren’t included in other guided tours, along with some of the shops where you can buy Belgian comics in your native language. Come enjoy the national comic with Curiositas Mundus!

Itinerary

10 min

We meet at the entrance of the Brüssel gallery and shop, and you will discover why this name is important within the Belgian comic, as well as knowing the origins of the comic.

30 min

We will see several murals dedicated to the world of comics (among them, the first to be created in the city) and discover who are their authors, how they relate to each other, which are the different schools of Franco-Belgian comics, etc. Paying special attention to the so-called "clear line". We’ll see examples like Victor Sackville, Ric Hochet, Kinky & Cosy, and Thorgal.

10 min

After visiting several more murals, such as Yoko Tsuno’s, we will arrive at the house that inspired Hergé to place his most famous reporter, Tintin. Very close to the market where the bang character finds the famous "unicorn".

10 min

We will continue to see various designs until we arrive at the graphic version of the Manneken Pis, a large mural in his honor, next to his wardrobe, where we will tell some of the forays of this little boy in the world of Franco-Belgian comics. Notable examples will include XIII, The Young Albert, and Olivier Rameau.

5 min

From here we will dedicate time to Tintin, starting with the mural in which it appears and which takes us to "The Tornasol affair", very close to the city center.

5 min

We will see the entrance of the Tintin boutique, where you can find various articles related to the famous reporter, and which is beautifully set in "The Blue Lotus".

5 min

Hergé lived not only on comic books. We will talk about the forays into theatre of Tintin's characters, which took place in these galleries.

10 min

After talking about the important Moof museum, the statue of this huge Smurf will invite us to talk about it and its creator and the boutique we can find next to it.

10 min

The final point of the guided tour is under the mural passage dedicated to The Smurfs and the Brussels life and customs represented by these blue characters. Will you discover all the secrets that this mural holds?

Recommended to 200% if you like the comic, and if you are not a lover you will start to like, Samuel awesome as a guide

Stunning visit to the murals Samuel is an exceptional guide, he adapted to our level, in the group there were people with more and less knowledge of the world of comics and I think everyone liked it... recommended one hundred percent, I would repeat without a doubt, if you like the essential comic and if you have read something small to Tintin... You're gonna love it too.

An essential Brussels with Samuel

Very good experience, to enter the Belgian culture of comics, an essential visit of the city, its buildings and as not its authors of comics, Samuel is a guide with an in-depth knowledge of the subject, I do not give an old comic to each reservation, a detail to thank and was extended three hours, recommending more aspects of the city, in the group I think we were all delighted

¡Muchísimas gracias! Reseñas como esta son las que nos hacen seguir cada día.

Fun and different, a specialized tour on an important theme from Belgium

Different experience, interesting and I learned a lot. Tour with very cool guide (Samuel) that brought a lot of information on a fun tour with a specific theme for tourism in Brussels. I highly recommend for those looking for something different from the standard Tours

Great way to start the trip

Was staying in Paris for the week so took a day trip to Brussels by train (worth it!) started with the comic books walls trail and it guided us through the day. We only made it to 10 before we started venturing off the tour route but the route we did do was great and we saw so much of the area we would not have.

A must see

I did not do a guided tour to the comics on the walls of the house in Brussels. Nevertheless, I found some of the pictures. They are tall and almost all colored. Whether Lucky Luck, Asterix and Oberlix, Tim and Struppi, you'll find them all. Many visitors to Brussels go looking alone. Some of the pictures I saw by chance. Always great to see. Brussels is known for comics. Since 1991, house walls have been embellished with comic characters.

We had fun and above all we learned a lot, our guide Samuel has a wide and vast knowledge not only of the comic culture in Brussels but also general culture which made the tour very enjoyable and interactive, I highly recommend it and hopefully it's your turn Samuel!!

Both great and bad experience

I gave it 5 because the guide was fascinating and knew his subject very well. I could have given Tripadvisor a 1 because this service provider does not have a guide in French. After booking, I received a message by snap during the night from the service provider telling me that the tour was in Spanish. Not having had the information we introduced ourselves and luckily there was only a Spaniard who spoke English and who after discussion agreed that the tour would be done in English. It was more difficult for the guide and for us, especially my wife, but overall we pretty much understood each other. So French travelers who only speak French, be very careful because this service provider only does school groups in French and private tours but it is not at all the same price

Visit to the Comic Strip Museum in Brussels

Interesting visit to the museum, with numerous explanatory boards on the designers. Shop with a huge choice of comics and other goodies. We walked there from the center.
