Description
The full day experience through the Sacred Valley of the Incas is a full day tour that visits all of the four main historical sites of the Sacred Valley in one day: Pisac, Maras, Moray and Ollantaytambo. The first stop of the day is Pisac where you’ll visit the famous Pisac and get in contact with the local culture, and the Ruins of Pisac famous for the inca terraces and an ancient inca cemetery. Next stop is Moray, the Inca’s Agricultural Lab, famous for the circular terraces, and the amazing Maras Salt Mines with more than 3000 natural salt pools. After stop for lunch in Urubamba before heading to our final destination: Ollantaytambo. Ollantaytambo is known as one of the last “living testaments” of the Incas in Peru because it was built upon Incan fundamentals and groundworks. The Incan irrigation system still works and water runs through stone canals on the sides of streets.

Afterwards, we will continue the trip to the district of Maras – Moray. Moray is made up of three amphitheater-like terraces made by the Incas. These terraces, which are carved deep into the earth in the shape of a basin, are believed to have been used as an agricultural laboratory to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops.
After exploring Moray you will head to the Maras Salt Mines which are only 2 miles away. Dating back to colonial times, Maras was considered a salt-producing center. Carved into the mountainside are more than 3,000 salt pools, which are filled daily with a trickle of water. Once the water evaporates, it leaves behind a brilliant mosaic of salt.

Great experience. Juan was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Would recommend this tour and Juan to everyone
I really did not enjoy this tour at all. It became obvious very early on that most of the day was going to be wasted on unwanted, time-consuming shopping visits. We were hurried around the archaeological sites with almost no time to appreciate them, given only a few minutes before being hurried along, but forced to spend 1/2 hour blocks at an Alpaca farm / shopping outlet, a silver shop, etc. I honestly just wanted to leave after the second shopping stop. This is not what I am interested in at all. Complete waste of time and money. I will complain to Viator about this, as it was the worst experience I had in Peru.
I had a wonderful experience! Juan was a great guide and provided loads of knowledge about the history and culture. The small group size was perfect. We had plenty of time to take lots of photos as well as explore the sites.
This was a very nice tour. We were able to see some of the highlights of the sacred valley . We also enjoyed the option to end the trip in ollantaytambo, as that’s where we were staying for the night.
Overall, we had a very good experience! Our tour guide Jhonnatan was incredibly knowledgeable of all the sites and the history behind each location. We did not have the greatest physical fitness or altitude adjustment, but we’re able to make it through the entire tour with the patience and understanding of Jhonnatan. Would highly recommend this tour. We were two families, seven total people, including three children aged 8 to 9.
It was very nice to visit the locations and learn more about the culture of the Incas. The guide Juan speaks 5 languages (including Portuguese) and gave us very detailed explanations of the places we visited.
Humberto was such an enthusiastic and informative guide ~ we learned so much! He even used space on his camera to take photos and add them to the group chat. We were grateful the tour team allowed us to bring our luggage since we were stopping and staying in Ollantaytambo. They even dropped us off at a different hotel location than our original pick-up. Things you should know: • bring water • bring cash • bring sunscreen and apply it regularly • bring a light jacket for rainy season or simply to use as a protect and against the sun • bring a small snack ~ you won't eat lunch until around 14:00 • bring hand sanitizer • bring a small pack of tissues (females, to use as toilet paper) • bring ibuprofen and take or prior to the first destination of this is your first or second day in Cusco. Elevation sickness is no joke, no matter how fit and young you are, you'll get winded easily and migraines.
Dear traveller, thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review. We’re delighted to hear that Humberto’s enthusiasm and knowledge helped make your day truly enriching. It’s wonderful that his photos and extra support added even more value to your experience. We’re also glad our team could assist with your luggage and arrange a convenient drop-off in Ollantaytambo—your comfort is always our priority. Your practical tips for future travelers are incredibly valuable, and we appreciate you sharing them. The Sacred Valley is a beautiful journey, but the altitude and weather can certainly be challenging, so your advice will help many others prepare better. Thank you again for choosing to explore with us. We hope to welcome you back on another adventure in Peru! Best regards, Willka Travel Team
