We had an excellent time on our tour, Ben was our guide for both, and I learned so many spooky stories and facts walking through Rome, things we passed by multiple times on the trip and didn’t even notice! The crypt was so fascinating and beautiful, not at all what I expected. We aware; if you book the combo tour it is a lot of walking, so make sure you’re prepared for that. They do sell them separately too if you don’t think you can walk that long, our tour finished after 10pm. We loved it though!
Thank you, Jordyn. We’re so glad you enjoyed the Capuchin Crypts Tour & Rome’s Dark Side Ghost Tour with Ben. Rome does hide its best stories in plain sight, which seems unnecessarily smug of it. Delighted the crypt surprised you in the best way. And yes, the combo is a long walk, but then so is most worthwhile suffering.
Such a fun way to kick off our first night in Rome! The guide, Arielle, was a fantastic story teller and so knowledgeable. The tour was a great combo of spook and city history. We got a little lost on our way to the tour, and she kindly caught us up once we connected with the group. Definitely suggest leaving WAY before you think you need to in Rome, just for everything.
Thank you, Julie. We’re delighted you enjoyed the Capuchin Crypts Tour & Rome’s Dark Side Ghost Tour with Arielle. Spook and history is exactly the balance we aim for. We’re also glad she could catch you up once you found the group. Rome does like to test people before rewarding them, usually through directions.
The Combination Capuchin Crypts and Ghost storytelling tour in Rome was an unforgettable experience and a completely unique way to see the city after dark. Our guide, Mary, was exceptional. She brought Rome to life in a way that felt immersive, atmospheric, and genuinely captivating. Her storytelling was the highlight of the entire tour—she had a way of weaving history, mystery, and just the right amount of suspense to keep everyone fully engaged from start to finish. Visiting the Capuchin Crypts was both fascinating and haunting, and Mary provided thoughtful context that made the experience even more meaningful. As we moved through the city, her ghost stories added an extra layer of intrigue, making familiar streets feel mysterious and full of hidden history. If you’re looking for something beyond the typical sightseeing tour, this is absolutely worth it. Mary’s storytelling alone makes it a must-do experience in Rome
Thank you, Ken. We’re delighted you enjoyed the Capuchin Crypts Tour & Rome’s Dark Side Ghost Tour with Mari. The crypts are memorable enough on their own, but it’s always pleasing when the storytelling manages to compete with several rooms full of arranged bones. We’re so glad the evening felt immersive, atmospheric, and distinct from the usual sightseeing routine. Rome after dark does have a habit of improving, or at least becoming more honest.
Awesome tour and very informative! Felt like we saw so much a of the city and learned so much. Ben has so much knowledge of the city and gave us plenty of recommendations for outside of the tour. Do keep in mind if you do the combo tour it is ~4 hours of walking, so dress comfortably, but totally worth it!
Thank you, Adele! We’re so glad you enjoyed the Capuchin Crypts Tour & Rome’s Dark Side Ghost Tour. It can be a long walk, but then so is most worthwhile suffering. We’re delighted Ben could make those four hours feel worth it with plenty of history, a solid stretch of the city, and a few recommendations for after the tour. Rome does reward comfortable shoes, and a mild tolerance for bones, ghosts, and historical bad behaviour.
Ariel was a true delight as a guide for our catacombs tour. Knowledgeable and plenty of anecdotes! She is worth taking the tour all over again. Ben led our tour of ghosts and horribleness. A great wit, and much information about the evils of men in Ancient Rome.
“Horrible character” is very much a compliment around here. We’re thrilled you enjoyed the combo - from the unsettling beauty of the crypts to Rome’s less saintly stories above ground. Arielle and Ben will be delighted to hear they left such an impression!
Hello dear team, I would like to thank you very much for yesterday's tour. And special praise goes to my tour guide, who provided first aid immediately when a man was hit by a car before we started the tour. The tour guide reacted excellently in this situation. Overall, she was a great companion for the entire tour. I am always amazed at how much knowledge and information the guides have. As for the tour itself, I can only say: WOW! The many impressions and facts about what I saw kept me busy for quite a while afterwards. I can really recommend this tour to every visitor to Rome. Thank you very much for this great opportunity. Best regards Susann
Susann, thank you for this incredibly thoughtful review and for joining us for the combo tour. First things first, we’re very proud of your guide for stepping in so quickly before the tour even began. Our team trains for more than legends and skeletons, and it’s reassuring to see that calm, professional side in a real emergency. We’re delighted the rest of the evening stayed with you afterwards. That’s exactly what we aim for with the Capuchin Crypts and Dark Side tour, a mix of bone chapels, true stories and the sort of Roman history that quietly rearranges how you look at the city. Thank you for recommending us to other visitors to Rome. If you come back and feel like adding a few more morbid facts to your memory, we’ll be ready for round two.
Really enjoyed this tour. Guide was really fun & informative!! Really added to our experience in Rome. Highly recommended.
Thank you for joining our Capuchin Crypts and Dark Side combo, and for the kind words. Glad to hear your guide managed to keep things both fun and informative, that’s exactly the line we like to walk in a city filled with bones, relics and some truly poor life choices from the past. If you return to Rome and want to add a few more dark details to your memories of the city, we’ll have fresh stories waiting.
We got to do this on Halloween and had a fantastic time! Ben seemed to know all the city's dirty little secrets.
Thank you, Echo-Dawn! Halloween in Rome is the perfect time to uncover its dirty little secrets! We’re delighted you enjoyed spending the night with Ben and our two most delightfully macabre tours. The spirits were certainly in good company that evening…
Such a fun and creative way to see the city. And the Capuchin Monks-wow! We loved both our guides… they shared such unique details that most people would likely never know. And they did it with a personal touch. Thank you!
Thank you, Patricia! We’re delighted you braved both the bones of the Capuchin monks and the ghosts of Rome’s streets. Our guides do love sharing those eerie little details most tours politely skip over. So glad you enjoyed both halves of the combo - proof there’s never a dull moment when the dead are involved.
An amazing experience for our party, 1 adult and 2 teenagers. Our guide, Arielle, was knowledgable and funny, the tour was interactive , captivating the attention of the youngsters. Many “AHA” moments. Need to mention that with larger groups/tours/companies, the guide is not allowed in the Capuchin crypt, so the experience is so much more valuable then an audioguide. We are happy that we chose the Combo tour as they “complimented” each other with dark stories . It was the best part of our short trip to Rome and the one that most certainly will remain in the kids memory l. As for the adult… well, 4th time in Rome and it was very nice to find out less known facts about this incredible town and its history. Definitely worth the tour! Not to mention the support from customer care with ticket, reservation. Congrats and many thanks I recommend booking directly from their website
Thank you, Alina! We’re thrilled the Combo tour hit the mark for both you and the teenagers - that mix of bones, legends, and little “aha” moments is exactly what we love to share. Having a guide inside the Capuchin Crypts really does bring the place to life (in a manner of speaking), and we’re delighted Arielle made it such a highlight of your trip. Rome always has more dark corners waiting whenever you return!
